Jenna Dewan says ‘there’s a lot of love’ and ‘positive energy’ with ex Channing Tatum despite split

She announced the end of her marriage to Channing Tatum earlier this year.

But Jenna Dewan admitted that while they may have split, the couple’s union is still very much intact during an interview with Harpers Bazaar.

The 37-year-old dancing queen said her relationship with ex Tatum is the ‘new normal’ and filled with ‘a lot of love’ as the pair stay committed to co-parenting their daughter Everly, four.

Dewan wasn’t shy in detailing the nuances to her relationship with Channing being ‘a new normal where there is a lot of love.’

The couple announced they were splitting after nearly nine years of marriage in a joint statement released in April.

‘We’re just getting used to it,’ she said. ‘We’re in a very positive energy together, trying to be the best parents to Everly. We support each other.’

The statement released on April 2 said, ‘There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly.’

Channing and Jenna would have celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary on July 11, and will celebrate their daughter’s fifth birthday on May 31.

‘She’s like a little mirror for me,’ Dewan said of Everly. ‘She’s so willful that she kind of inspires me to get clear and more willful in my own life.

‘If she’s not running her own business, or ruling the world, I have failed as a mother.’

The World of Dance host has also found solace after the breakup by cultivating meaningful relationships with other women.

‘I’m aware how weird that sounds… It’s the whole L.A. hippie experience … At the end of the day, the whole point is women coming together, and supporting each other, and connecting and bonding,’ she said. ‘We have these crazy lives … I think as I’ve gotten older, it sounds cliché, but it’s more important to have a really solid group of girls that are there for me, who get me.’
