Jennifer Aniston and Drew Barrymore tell Adam Sandler they could remake Three’s Company

Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler filmed Drew Barrymore’s talk show this week in a segment that will air on Monday.

When the three actors sat down in Drew’s studio, they mulled over a potential Hollywood project.

Aniston and Barrymore told Sandler that they had a brilliant idea: the three of them could remake the classic TV show Three’s Company.

Then the ladies – who have reportedly been in competition with one another – got into a discussion about who would play Chrissy Snow, the sexy dumb blonde character Suzanne Somers made famous.

The sitcom also starred the late John Ritter as Jack Tripper and Joyce DeWitt as Janet Wood.

The fun sitcom set in the beachside community of Santa Monica, California aired from 1976 until 1984.

Somers left the show after four seasons when she asked to be paid the same amount Ritter was making – she was getting $30,000 an episode to his $150,000 an episode.

But even though Suzanne was not on the show for the full run, she is the one who is most closely associated with the hit.

Drew said on the show, ‘We did come up with a little bit of an idea the other day about what a trio movie could be.’

She then said it was based off a TV show.

Jennifer offered, ‘Oh, Three’s Company’ to which Adam said, ‘Oh that would be fun man.’

Drew asked what he thought and he said, ‘That would be incredible.’

Adam, said, ‘With Larry.’ Larry was Larry Dallas, the womanizer pal of Ritter’s played by Richard Kline.

Jennifer shared: ‘With Larry. We have to find the Ropers.’ The Ropers were Stanley and Helen Roper, the landlords played by Norman Fell and Audra Lindley.

Drew asked, ‘But who would be Chrissy and who would be Janet, because I’ll be either.’

Jennifer said, ‘I’ll be either too.’

Drew then asked, ‘Who do you think you want to be more?’

Jennifer then said she couldn’t handle the short hair Janet wore, and asked Drew, ‘You could do the short hair?’

‘I love Janet. She’s a real no-nonsense gal…I’m much more Janet you’re much more Chrissy,’ said Drew.

Jennifer asked Adam if he would play Mr Roper to which he said, ‘I’m not as good as Jack Tripper I’d have to be like Jimmy Tripper.’

Jennifer then chimed in, ‘Well we’re not doing an identical reboot, this would be in the spirit of.’

Adam said, ‘I love that idea’ while Drew suggested, ‘We’ll workshop it.’

And during the sit down the Emmy winner talked about another one of Adam’s frequent collaborators: Drew Barrymore.

While on GMA this week Aniston addressed a possible competition with Drew.

Aniston has made three movies with Sandler (Just Go With It, Murder Mystery and Murder Mystery 2) while Barrymore has made three as well (Wedding Singer, 50 First Dates and Blended).

‘We want to do a movie with all three of us together and just put an end to this competition,’ Aniston told host Michael Strahan.

‘There’s no competition,’ Sandler added. ‘Just two great ladies. That would be amazing doing a movie all together.’

Murder Mystery 2 debuts on Friday.

In a clip of the upcoming movie the duo are seen landing via helicopter in a tropical paradise and saying that they felt like they had ‘died and gone to heaven.’

Aniston is reprising her role as Audrey Spitz while Adam plays her bumbling husband Nick Spitz.

They were greeted by Maharajah (played by Adeel Akhtar) and his fiancée Claudette (played by Mélanie Laurent).

Maharajah makes a big deal of Nick and Audrey Spitz arriving on the island for his impending nuptials as they enjoy red cocktails.

And Claudette greets Audrey with not one but four kisses which puts her off.

Audrey then gets jealous when Claudette gives Nick an extra two kisses so she tells them to stop it.

‘Okay, oh! I would stop,’ Audrey says, clearly feeling territorial.

There was also a poster shared for the sequel where Aniston was in a black dress with stockings and an ivory coat over her shoulders.

And Sandler modeled a fashionable coat as he carried a silver briefcase.

The tag line is the clever, ‘Deux or die.’

The highly anticipated action-packed sequel will debut on March 31 from streamer Netflix.

The film is directed by Jeremy Garelick.
