TMZ also pointed out that Otunga is planning on donating a portion of the proceeds to a fathers’ rights organization.

The engagement ring is also GIA certified and the purchase will include official certification documents from Lane himself.

Hudson and her former fiancé initially met in the late 2000s, and they became engaged in 2008 after less than a year of dating.

The hitmaker was previously involved with her former partner, James Payton, for a period of almost 10 years before she met the professional wrestler.

The singer and the WWE personality remained engaged for a year before they welcomed their son, David Daniel Otunga, Jr, now aged 12, into their lives.

However, Hudson and Otunga eventually went their separate ways and split up for good in 2017.

The singer notably obtained a protective order against her former partner following their separation.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the singer alleged that he had shoved her during the course of an argument.

At the time, the Harvard Law graduate’s attorney, Tracy M Rizzo, issued a statement to People to make his feelings about the legal measure known.

‘Mr Otunga has never abused or harassed Ms Hudson or their son, and it is unfortunate, especially in today’s climate, that she would feel the need to make these false allegations against him,’ she said.

The protective order was later dropped and the professional wrestler was temporarily given primary custody of their child.

According to TMZ, the decision was reached partially due to Hudson’s strenuous professional schedule that kept her shuttling between London and Los Angeles at the time.

The terms of the custody agreement were not disclosed to the public and neither party’s lawyer gave any statement regarding the outcome of the case.
