Jennifer Lopez tied the knot with her beau Ben Affleck on Saturday – 20 years after the couple first got together – and one of the actress’ wedding dresses has an extra special story behind it.
Jennifer, 52, and Ben, 49, officially became husband and wife during an intimate wedding in Las Vegas over the weekend, and the star donned two stunning gowns for the occasion – including one that she fell in love with after wearing it in an ‘old movie,’ revealing that she ‘saved’ it for ‘years’ for her special day.
In her On the JLo newsletter, the singer shared details on her two dresses, the first being a classy white number, which had a boat neckline, a tight waist, and a pleated skirt. According to the pop star, she had been holding onto the gorgeous gown for a long time, and getting to wear it at her wedding meant a lot to her.
‘I’ve had this dress for so many years, and I’ve just been saving it, saving it, saving it, and now I’m wearing it on my wedding day,’ she gushed in her newsletter.

Director Kevin Smith later reflected on taking the wedding scene out, explaining, ‘I didn’t know if [it was right] to leave it in,’ due to their real-life relationship, which ended right before the film’s release.
‘People might forget they’re watching a picture, like, “Wait, didn’t these two NOT get married?”‘ he added.
Later on in the evening, Jen changed into a glamorous, luxury gown made by Zuhair Murad. The lacy-dress featured off-the-shoulder long sleeves, a sweetheart neckline, a corset bodice, and a fishtail train. She completed the look with a matching, long veil.
The dress is part of the designer’s spring 2023 bridal collection, and while the exact price has not been released, Zuhair’s dresses start at $8,000.

She kept her long brown hair loose in gorgeous beachy waves, with a little bit pulled back on top to keep it out of her face.

‘With the best witnesses you could ever imagine – a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet – we read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives,’ she continued in her newsletter.
Jen added that while the wedding was low-key – they played music off a Bluetooth speaker for her ‘short’ march down the aisle – she said it was the ‘best possible wedding’ that ‘they could have imagined.’
‘[It was] exactly what we wanted,’ she said. ‘Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world.

After meeting on the set of the film Gigli two decades ago – in 2002 – Jen and Ben soon began dating, and their romance became one of the most talked about pairings of the early 2000s.
They went on to star in a few other movies together, including Jersey Girl and Manufacturing Dissent. Ben eventually proposed with a six-carat, pink, diamond ring, and the twosome planned a lavish September 2003 wedding in Santa Barbara. However, just days before the wedding, the duo announced that they were postponing it.
Months later, they ended their romance completely, with Jen marrying Mark Anthony the following year, and Ben moving on with Jennifer Garner – whom he shares daughters Violet, 16, and Seraphina, 13, and son Samuel, 10, with – shortly after.
However, nearly 20 years after going their separate ways, the pair reconciled in May 2021. Ben then popped the question again in early 2022 with an enormous, green rock.

Hairstylist Chris gave a sneak peek at Jen’s wedding look through a video posted to his Instagram, which was taken moments before she and Ben exchanged their vows. In the clip, he asked Jen how she was doing, to which she replied, ‘I feel amazing. I’m so excited.’
The new bride – who shares 14-year-old twins, Emme Maribel Muñiz and Maximilian David Muñiz, with ex husband Marc – also shared a make-up free selfie on Sunday with her wedding ring on full display. She looked absolutely stunning while showing off her natural looks as she laid topless under white sheets.

The couple, collectively known as ‘Bennifer,’ obtained a marriage license in Clark County, Nevada. The marriage certificate, however, has yet to be filed.
It’s been reported that Jennifer will be taking Ben’s last name, as the Clark County Recorder’s Office listed the pop star’s moniker as ‘Jennifer Affleck.’
She concluded in her newsletter: ‘Stick around long enough and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive through in Las Vegas at 12:30 in the morning in the tunnel of love drive through, with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with. Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things-and worth waiting for.’
