Jeopardy! contestant beats his own single-day winnings record bagging $131K and now has nearly $700k in the bank

A Nevada man is celebrating being the claimant of Jeopardy!’s highest single-game winning amount – for the second time in one week.

In Tuesday’s episode James Holzhauer, bagged a total of $110,914, beating the previous record of $77,000 and on Wednesday he did it again, bringing home $131,127.

After outdoing Roger Craig’s outstanding amount on September 19, 2010, by a cool $32,000, 34-year-old Holzhauer’s total winnings rose to $244,365. Now, his total winnings is an extraordinary $697,787 on the show.

‘I said all along that I wanted to break Roger Craig’s one-game record and I did it,’ Holzhauer said about the top-rated quiz show on television with 23 million viewers.

The professional sports gambler from Las Vegas now holds the top four single game winning spots. 

His first record breaker this week astoundingly emulated the figure of his daughter’s date of birth.

It marked the fourth triumph in a row for Holzhauer, who on Wednesday’s show won his fifth consecutive game.

His ten-episode streak is second only to Jeopardy! legend Ken Jennings, who amassed $2,520,700 during his 74-game winning streak.
