Jeremy Corbyn ‘to appear on a celeb special of Gogglebox’

  • Labour leader will share a sofa and digest the week’s television on hit TV show
  • Recording of the show, in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, to take place this weekend
  • Is not believed that filming will take place at his home in Islington, north London

Jeremy Corbyn will swap the Dispatch Box for Gogglebox when he appears in a one-off special of the hit Channel 4 show next week.

The Labour leader will share a sofa and digest the week’s television shows with other mystery celebs to raise money for a cancer charity.

It is unknown what programmes exactly the MP, who has previously revealed himself to be a fan of EastEnders and Casualty, will be reviewing.

Recording of the show, in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, will take place this weekend, but is thought that Mr Corbyn’s home in north London will be used for filming.

The Labour leader similarly shocked viewers last year after a surprise cameo on Channel 4’s comedy show the Last Leg.

He made his entrance in a James Bond-style supercar, full black suit and bow tie – with a ‘fur’ coat over his shoulders.

On the show, Corbyn revealed his love for train timetables and manholes, which was mocked by Australian host Adam Hills.

The 68-year-old also failed to answer lighthearted questions from social media including whether he would rather have arms for legs or legs for arms.

When asked if he would accept Donald Trump as President of the U.S. if it meant he became Prime Minister, he replied: ‘No, that’s not how it works.’
