Comedian Mick Molloy will join Mark ‘MG’ Geyer on Triple M’s new breakfast show in 2023: Mick and MG in the Morning, following The MG, Jess and Pagey show being axed with just one day’s notice.
Jess Eva announced on Thursday that The MG, Jess & Pagey show won’t continue next year, and that Friday will be the ‘final show’, while Chris Page already announced his exit from the breakfast show back in October.
Former Network 10 news presenter Natarsha Belling also joins the team as a Newsreader.
‘Mick and MG in the Morning will bring Triple M listeners a fresh new Breakfast offering but also the familiar voice of Molloy and his legendary radio antics,’ Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) said in a statement released on Friday.
‘Well-known and respected newsreader Natarsha Belling will join the show as newsreader and will banter with the best of them to keep the boys on their toes.’
Meanwhile, Molloy said: ‘I’m excited to be returning to my spiritual home at Triple M and look forward to getting amongst it, in the Sydney breakfast radio scene.

‘After a year away from the radio waves I wanted a new challenge and Sydney is the perfect opportunity. I’m also looking forward to working with MG and swapping stories.’
‘And if this doesn’t work out, I’ll throw my hat in the ring at The Project. I hear there’s an opening,’ he joked of the Channel 10 news show’s mass exodus.
MG said in the statement that he is excited to be working with Molloy in the new year.
‘I cannot wait to work with Micky, who I regard as radio royalty. One of us owns a pub, the other owns a gym. The “cross-over” after work activities will be a hoot!’ he said.

‘If you can roll in here to a breakfast show and you pick up a couple of soulmates and then you roll back out again and you have a wine, how good’s living?’ Jess told listeners on Thursday
Molloy has spent three decades with SCA and the last 11 years with Triple M radio, appearing on the footy commentary team.
He is also the Host of the Channel Seven’s The Front Bar.
The announcement comes after former Block star Jess Eva announced that The MG, Jess & Pagey show won’t continue next year, and that Friday will be the ‘final show’.
On Thursday, Jess clarified that she and MG won’t be unemployed, and are still part of the ‘Triple M family’.
‘Tomorrow is going to be all about reflection,’ MG told listeners. ‘Tomorrow is going to be all about the year that we’ve had together.’
Pagey already announced his exit from the breakfast show back in October to pursue other opportunities outside of radio
An emotional Jess then addressed MG and co-host Cat Lynch, who has been filling in since Pagey left.
‘I just adore ya. At the end of the day … If you can roll in here to a breakfast show and you pick up a couple of soulmates and then you roll back out again and you have a wine, how good’s living?’
Distraught fans left comments on the Triple M Instagram account about the axing, with most expressing their shock at the news.
‘Nooooooo,’ commented one, while another wrote: ‘Wtf no way!’
In October, Pagey surprised listeners by announcing that he would be leaving the station at the end of the year.

Speaking on their Triple M show, the host said it was time for something different after more than a decade at the network.
‘Sometimes you can do the same thing for too long,’ he began.
He joked that his next role won’t require him getting up every day at 4am.
An emotional Pagey said he had formed close bonds with his colleagues at Triple M that would last a lifetime.
‘I love this radio station and all the people who work here. It’s a family,’ he said.
Back in April it was revealed that former Triple M star Lawrence ‘Moonman’ Mooney had settled the $1million breach of contract claim he brought against the radio network late last year.
It was still listed for directions on May 11, but sources confirmed to Daily Mail Australia the matter had been resolved. The terms of the settlement are unknown.
The court heard in February that Mooney had feared South Cross would ‘smear’ him with unfounded allegations when it sought to justify his sudden termination.
Mooney was demanding more than $1million over his unceremonious departure from his Moonman in the Morning radio program in November.
Back in April it was revealed that former Triple M star Lawrence ‘Moonman’ Mooney (pictured) had settled the $1million breach of contract claim he brought against the radio network late last year
Employment specialist John Laxon, for Mooney, had described the case as a ‘very straightforward breach of contract claim’ before it was settled.
When the case was in court in February both sides had agreed to enter mediation but Mr Laxon said Southern Cross Austereo had been 44 days late filing a defence.
Mooney was dumped from his breakfast radio gig on November 12, 2021, and was suing Southern Cross Austereo for more than $1million in unpaid wages.
Mooney’s exit came two weeks after he suddenly vanished from the airwaves amid rumours of a major falling out with co-host Eva, who starred in the 2018 season of The Block.
Mick and MG in the Morning will air next year 6am to 9am on weekdays, from Monday 16th January.
