Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford are greeted by fan in their hotel room

An England fan has filmed himself walking into the hotel room of Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford after he was mistaken as a hairdresser.

The shocking footage shows the supporter casually knocking on the footballers’ door before strolling inside and shaking hands with Manchester United ace Lingard.

It is understood the man stayed in the room for upwards of 10 minutes after security at England’s training facility the Grove, near Watford, mistook him for a barber.

The Sun reported that the supporter had been carrying a plastic bag containing his swimming costume after using the facility’s swimming pool on Sunday afternoon.

He was then ushered to the room of the stars, who are staying at the Grove ahead of England’s game with Italy tonight, by security guards.

In the video, the fan is heard knocking on the room’s door and claiming: ‘Room service, Mr Lingard.’

The footballer answers ‘enter, enter the dragon’, causing the fan to walk into the room and right up to the two footballers.

A clearly bemused Lingard, 25, shakes the man’s hand as he and Rashford, 20, sit on a bed looking at their phones.

The supporter then boldly sits down on a chair inside the room as he says: ‘Jesse, how are you doing my brother?’

Hertfordshire Police were contacted in the aftermath of the incident and spoke to all parties involved, with no crime judged to have taken place.

MailOnline has contacted the FA for comment.
