Jessica Chastain glows in green as Jodie Comer takes the plunge at Drama Desk Awards red carpet

Jessica Chastain and Jodie Comer led a parade of boldface names across the red carpet at this year’s Drama Desk Awards in New York on Tuesday.

Both of them emerged triumphant that evening, posing up a storm for the cameras with their trophies proudly held high.

Jodie, 30, was on hand to get Outstanding Solo Performance for Prima Facie, in a role she originated in London before bringing it to Broadway.

She won an Olivier Award in the UK for the one-woman show, and is now nominated for a Tony Award for the same part.

The blonde bombshell cut a busty figure at Tuesday’s awards show, sliding her slender frame in a clinging black trouser suit with a beguilingly plunging neckline.

Letting her silky locks tumble in gentle waves over the shoulders of her pinstriped blazer, she played up her English rose features with naturalistic makeup.

Meanwhile Jessica made a splash in a highlighter green suit that brought back memories of the 1970s with its flared hems and extravagant coat.

The ensemble served up a generous helping of cleavage and was cinched in around Jessica’s enviably trim waistline with a wide, retro chic belt.

Jessica, who recently played Tammy Wynette in a new miniseries, wore her signature red hair down for her latest night on the town.

She picked up the Outstanding Lead Performance In A Play gong for her star turn in a revival of Henrik Ibsen’s classic A Doll’s House.

As she swanned about with her trophy, she managed to squeeze in a bit of posing with Will & Grace star Sean Hayes, who had an award of his own to show off.

Sean got an Outstanding Lead Performance In A Play trophy for Good Night, Oscar, which is running on Broadway till August.

Written by the Pulitzer Prize winner Doug Wright, the play stars Sean as the celebrated 20th century American pianist, actor and wit Oscar Levant.

Oscar became as famous for his acerbic talk-show shots as his musical career, and the new play follows his appearance on a 1958 episode of The Jack Paar Show.

Boldface names galore made their presence felt at Tuesday’s fete, including legendary actress of stage and screen Ellen Burstyn.

Wrapped in a sumptuously embossed scarlet and gold jacket, she brought her pedigree to the beano despite not being a nominee.

Annaleigh Ashford, winner of Outstanding Lead Performance In A Musical for playing Mrs. Lovett in a revival of Sweeney Todd, was among those snapped with her prize.

She attended the show in a summery floral dress that fell fashionably off the shoulder at one side and featured a slit that allowed her to flash a bit of leg.

Miriam Silverman glowed while holding aloft her Outstanding Featured Performance In A Play gong, earned for The Sign In Sidney Brustein’s Window, a piece from A Raisin Un The Sun author Lorraine Hansberry.

J. Harrison Ghee, a nonbinary performer who got Outstanding Lead Performance In A Musical for Some Like It Hot, celebrated Pride with rainbow platforms.

Thomas Kail, who won Outstanding Director Of A Musical for the new Sweeney Todd revival, got to hobnob with his old pal and collaborator Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Lin-Manuel cut a dashing figure in a navy shirt rolled up to reveal his toned forearms, while Thomas swanked about in a perfectly fitted black suit and tie.

Thomas was the director of the original Broadway cast of not just Hamilton but also Lin-Manuel’s previous show In The Heights.

Unlike the Tony Awards, the Drama Desk Awards honor not just Broadway performances but also off-Broadway and off-off-Broadway.

This year, for the first time in its history, the Drama Desk Awards opted to make its acting categories gender neutral – or in its preferred parlance, ‘gender free.’
