A JetBlue plane leaving California was forced to divert to Las Vegas after a man started biting passengers.

The flight was somewhere over Utah when out of nowhere the man started biting the people sitting beside him.

Passengers told CBS that the man also started hitting the people, whom he apparently knew.

The plane was en route to New York’s JFK airport from the Los Angeles International Airport when the pilot diverted the plane to Las Vegas.

Another passenger, only identified as Tom, said he helped restrain the man (pictured)

Doctors on the flight tried to help by examining the passenger, but they were also attacked. Another passenger, only identified as Tom, told CBS that he helped restrain the man.

‘I grabbed his hands behind his back and held him there while the flight attendants put the restraints on him,’ Tom said.

‘At that point, he started yelling and tried to come towards the flight attendant, behind me, at the time. I really had a hell of a time keeping him in place there.’

Video of the incident shows the man attacking the person next to him as the passenger screams in the background.

The man is then seen being restrained by Tom in the video.

In the video, police boarded the plan and were seen speaking with the man.

JetBlue said the passenger was escorted off the aircraft and the remaining customers resumed their scheduled flight to New York.
