Mr Andrews was allegedly stabbed by Lawler coming out of bushes where he was hiding to watch Lawler and his wife leave their unit, The Courier Mail reported.

The pair began to argue over Mr Andrews’ estranged wife, who was in the company of Lawler at the time of the brutal attack on Friday night.

Neighbours claimed to have heard Lawler making violent threats before the alleged attack.

‘I’ll stab you c–t’, and ‘I will kill you’ were two of the prominent threats that were allegedly heard..

Police claim Lawler disengaged from the violence to re-enter his home, before returning and allegedly stabbing Mr Andrews.

Police were quick to arrive on the scene, and Mr Andrews was treated by paramedics.

‘They were doing CPR for about 20 minutes or so,’ neighbour Harrison Hilyear said.

‘There were a couple of neighbours who came out to try and help,’ another neighbour, Tane Smith, added.

Lawler’s housemate, Kyah Hambleton, appeared less inclined to show concern for the victim of the stabbing via a social media post following the incident.

‘You know what, I don’t even care that someone’s dead. All I care about is my mate and the fact I can’t go back into that house to get my s*** … Everything’s going to be OK brother,’ she wrote.

The post has since been removed.

Mr Lawler will be the subject of a bedside hearing if he is unable to be brought into custody by the rescheduled date of August 3.
