Jim Carrey has been slammed as a ‘sleazebag’ after a comment he made to a female journalist who asked him about his ‘bucket list’.
Charlotte Long, a journalist for Heat magazine, interviewed the actor, 58, during a promotional junket for Sonic The Hedgehog and asked him what goals he still had left to accomplish in his life.
‘Just you,’ the actor replied, smiling.

The reporter laughed and said: ‘I don’t know what to say to that,’ with Jim replying: ‘Just own it’.
The moment, which was caught on video, has provoked a reaction from social media users who thought the actor was being ‘creepy’.
One user wrote: ‘Such a huge fan of @JimCarrey but lost respect for him today. This is really unacceptable, I wish and hope he apologises to you.’
Another said: ‘Unfortunately it turns out Jim Carrey is a massive sleazebag.’

The comment comes after Jim was branded ‘rude’ and ‘awkward’ when he joked that Margot Robbie had a successful career thanks to her good looks.
The film star made the remark when they appeared on a recent edition of The Graham Norton Show to promote their respective films.

He was on hand to talk about Sonic The Hedgehog, but took a moment to gush over Margot, saying: ‘It’s incredible that you’ve got as far as you have with your obvious physical disadvantages.
‘It’s unbelievable, it’s really something. That’s pure talent right there!’
Margot appeared to take the joke in good humour as she laughed at the quip Jim had made, but viewers were not as convinced as they branded the interaction ‘rude’, ‘awkward’, and ‘creepy.’
Taking to Twitter to share their disdain for the actor’s remark, one wrote: ‘That joke Jim Carrey make towards Margot Robbie about her looks and talent was so awkward.
‘Kudos to her for just laughing and taking it on the chin, I’d have slapped him.’

Continuing that sentiment, one viewer said: ‘Well I for one think @MargotRobbie was very gracious in the face of huge condescension and blatant rudeness from Jim Carey (sic)’
Another hit out at the star by writing: ‘Jim Carey basically telling Margot Robbie her career is based on her looks. To her actual face. What?! She looked a bit blind sided.’
The reaction to Jim’s joke wasn’t all negative though, as some viewers defended it and said he was ‘commending’ the actress, rather than trying to offend her.

‘If he was scorning anyone, it was Hollywood, of whom Jim is famously critical – not Margot, whom he was clearly complimenting.’

Jim’s new film follows titular character Sonic The Hedghog, voiced by Ben Schwartz, as he tries to navigate Earth with his newfound human friend Tom Wachowski, played by James Marsden.
They head on a comedy-filled adventure in order to prevent the evil Dr. Robotnik (Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his powers for world domination.
