Giving an online talk to the Oxford Union, she said: ‘We have got not to be doing the things which may seem great, like flying to Iceland for two days for a stag party.

‘Don’t do it, you know what I mean? Go down to the Old Bull and Bush and have few pints there if you want to, but don’t keep flying around to do useless things.’

She added: ‘If we get through this, we as people, must learn to take responsibility for ourselves and for our families. And to do better’.
