Jodie Foster reprises Silence Of The Lambs role for sketch

It was the role that won her a second Academy Award.

And on Friday, 55-year-old Jodie Foster reprised her FBI agent Clarice Starling character for comedic purposes, as she took part in a sketch on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

In the sketch, Clarice is hunting for evidence of collusion between Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and Russian authorities – and seeks the advice of imprisoned cannibal Hannibal Lecter, played by 53-year-old host Colbert.

She’s back! 55-year-old Jodie Foster reprised her FBI agent Clarice Starling character for comedic purposes, as she took part in a sketch on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, 53

The pre-recorded scene begins with the Taxi Driver actress introducing herself to Colbert’s Lecter, who asks: ‘You’re one of Robert Mueller’s, aren’t you?’ – in reference to the US Justice Department’s special counsel into Trump’s Russia ties.

‘Still hunting President Trump?’ asks Colbert.

‘Do you know him?’ asks Foster.

‘I do. We were golfing buddies once. We ate our caddy, turned him into a taco bowl and a nice Diet Coke,’ says Colbert, in reference to the President’s widely mocked eating habits.

Later in the sketch, Colbert asks Foster: ‘What evidence do you have on Donald Trump so far?’

‘The 12 indictments against Manafort and Gates, Flynn pleading guilty of Kremlin intermediaries reaching out to the Trump campaign, unreported meetings with the Russian ambassador, the meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and the Russian lawyer, the messages between Donald Trump Jr. and WikiLeaks, Trump calling on Russia to find Clinton’s missing emails,’ she says.

He replies, ‘Seriously, you have that already? What do you need me for?’

The sketch ends with Foster asking if she can join Colbert in his cell – a request to which he is incredulous.

‘You know I eat people, right? It’s kind of my thing.’

Foster nods and admits: ‘It seems safer in there than it does out here.’.
