Jodie Kidd voices fears she won’t be able to have children with her toy boy fiancé Joseph Bates

Jodie Kidd has voiced fears that she won’t be able to have a child with her ex-Royal Marine fiancé Joseph Bates.

The model and TV personality, who has not yet named a date for her wedding, turned 44 this week, while Bates is 35. 

She said: ‘Having a younger man, am I going to get worried when he’s 43 and hasn’t got a kid, and I’m 50-odd, and suddenly he’s, like, “Oh, I want a baby”, and I’m on my Zimmer frame.’

Twice-married Jodie admits considering IVF treatment, telling the Divorced Not Dead podcast: ‘I have talked about freezing my eggs, but we just haven’t done it yet.’

Racing driver Jodie is mother to son Indio, 11, who she welcomed to the world with her ex-partner Andrea Vianini in 2011.  

Earlier this year, Jodie revealed her fiancé Joseph popped the question in Paris – while she was in the bath.

In January she revealed details of last November’s proposal and described it as ‘private, fun, and different’.

She told Hello! magazine: ‘I thought he was bending down to have a chat with me but suddenly he came out with it.  

‘I was a bit shocked. I just said, “Oh my goodness!” But it couldn’t have been a more wonderful moment.

‘I guess in a restaurant it would have been clichéd. But this was private, fun, and different.’

Her ex-Royal Marine partner told how he had been planning the proposal for some time.

‘I kept thinking: “Shall I do it now? Is this the right place?” I wanted it to be private, but I sort of ad-libbed,’ he admitted.  

The couple, who began dating in 2017, are planning a wedding at a friend’s property in the West Country but have not confirmed a date.

It will be Joseph’s first marriage and Jodie’s third.

She tied the knot with first husband Aidan Butler in 2005 but the marriage ended 18 months later.

Jodie was in a relationship with son Indio’s Argentinian polo player father Andrea until 2013.

She subsequently married David Blakeley. The couple separated in January 2015, after four months of marriage.
