After being unceremoniously let go from the New York Jets last season, Joe Douglas is returning to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Douglas, who was most recently the Jets’ general manager, will be going back to the Eagles in a senior scouting role, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.

He had previously worked for the Eagles from 2016 to 2019 – winning Super Bowl LII in the process.

In that span, Douglas was vice president of player personnel for Philadelphia and led the scouting department.

From there, he departed on his now ill-fated quest to try and bring the Jets back to the playoffs.

While Douglas drafted incredibly well – using his scouting background to acquire key pieces for the Jets – he wasn’t able to build a team capable of snapping that cold streak.
