Looking to the future: Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice, 47, says he’s optimistic as 2020 begins, as he took to Instagram Wednesday with a message as he wrapped up a difficult year in which he was incarcerated, deported and separated from wife Teresa, 47

The father-of-four daughters – Gia, 18, Gabriella, 15, Milania, 13, and Audriana, 10 – shared how he’s headed into the new year with humility and patience.

‘A New Year’s resolution is something that went in one ear and out the other!’ said Joe, who separated from Teresa earlier this month following a 20-year marriage that began October 23, 1999.

‘Well, not today I sat with myself in Rome and reflected about how I’m jumping into 2020,’ he said, noting how his new ‘Juicy Joe’ motto is ‘Don’t regret anything, think twice, ask, absorb be a sponge, and be humble and patient to my new surroundings!’

Joe, who has welcomed his daughters to Italy as the year wrapped up, ended the upbeat post, ‘AaaaaawwYeah!’

Joe spent most of the year behind bars in connection to his 2014 guilty plea to mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud charges.

Teresa spent most of 2015 in custody in her 11-month sentence in her related conviction, while Joe in March of 2016 started serving his 41-month sentence.

Because Joe was not a U.S. citizen – the reality star was born in Saronno, Italy and brought to the United States when he was a year old, never applying for citizenship – federal authorities ordered him deported due to legal statutes related to ‘a crime of moral turpitude’ or ‘aggravated felony.’

Joe concluded his sentence at Fort Dix, New Jersey’s Federal Correctional Institution this past March, and was held in ICE custody until he was deported to Italy October 11 amid an appeal in the case.

He’s taken to social media frequently as he has his family in town, sans Teresa, who had professional obligations keeping her in the states, according to E! News.

‘I posted this message in morning but I choked up and I took it down then I thought part of regrowth is acceptance!!’ he said earlier this week. ‘This year, I have done a lot of self reflection I now know to be Happy and content with who I am and what I have food, bed, air, girls, and family.

‘I learned in there All you have to do is love yourself and be the BEST! I’m letting go of 2019 with my beautiful girls but promising them the BEST of ME IN 2020!!’
