Joe Jonas goes hand-in-hand with fiancée Sophie Turner

Joe Jonas was stunned when his ex-girlfriend Demi Lovato was rushed to hospital in Los Angeles after a suspected overdose on Tuesday morning.

The singer, 28, was spotted hand-in-hand with his fiancée Sophie Turner several hours before the news broke, having lunch at Emilio’s Ballato in New York City.

The star and Game Of Thrones actress Sophie were sporting coordinating black and white outfits during their walk – hours before Joe expressed his support for Demi, 25, and wished her a speedy recovery.

‘She needs out prayers and support. We all know how strong you are Demi #prayfordemi’.

Jonas Brothers star Joe famously met Demi on the set of Disney channel flick Camp Rock which also featured his siblings Kevin and Nick.

The pair became firm friends and dated for less than two months in 2010 before splitting.

Joe subsequently revealed it was his decision to end the relationship because he didn’t want to ruin their friendship.

The pair have stayed on good terms and Demi still counts Joe’s brother Nick as one of her closest pals.

In a recent interview with New York Magazine, Joe spoke about their short-lived relationship – revealing he saw her struggles with drug addiction first-hand.

Demi – who also suffers from bulimia, bipolar and depression – first tried cocaine aged 17 on the Camp Rock tour, and soon began a downward spiral.

Joe said: ‘I really got to know her and got to see the ins and outs of what she was struggling with, like drug abuse.

‘ I felt like I needed to take care of her, but at the same time I was living a lie, because I wasn’t happy but felt like I had to stay in it for her, because she needed help.

‘I couldn’t express any of that, of course, because I had a brand to protect. It was an insane situation to be in.’

Taking to their social media accounts, the Jonas siblings shared their love for star following her hospitalization on Tuesday.

‘Like all of you I am reeling at the news about Demi’, Nick wrote.

‘All of us love her and need to pray for her to get well. She is a fighter #prayfordemi.’

The Jealous singer also shared the same message on his Instagram Stories.

Joe and Nick’s elder brother Kevin also sent his love, tweeting: ‘Sending my prayers and thoughts to @ddlovato and her family right now.’

The tributes come after Demi was rushed to hospital from her Hollywood Hills home just before noon on Tuesday after reportedly being found unconscious following an overdose.

A law enforcement source confirmed she was given Narcan when she was found, a medication that’s used to try and reverse an opioid overdose.

While it’s been speculated that Lovato overdosed on heroin, TMZ reported late Tuesday that the star had refused to disclose to paramedics what she had taken and that no drugs were found at her home.

A source told the website that she had not overdosed on heroin but wouldn’t disclose any further details. However, the songstress has previously struggled with cocaine and Oxycontin addictions.

According to UsWeekly, the Narcan was kept on hand by one of the singer’s friends ‘in case something like this happened.’

‘Her friends knew this was coming because she’s been using so much again. They were up all night partying the night before at her house,’ a source told UsWeekly. ‘Luckily, the Narcan worked and she will recover.’

Law enforcement told TMZ that there is currently no criminal investigation because they could not determine what drug Lovato was under the influence of.

It’s reported that the Confident singer’s mother Dianna De La Garza is at her bedside.
