The latest judge to join the panel on The Voice Australia has revealed his surprise after discovering the importance of seating arrangements.

Amidst reports of brutal arguments between fellow judges Kelly Rowland and Boy George, new recruit Joe Jonas has said he’s just thankful he sits on ‘the opposite side’ of the pair.

Describing the show’s stop-start, overlong filming sessions, he explained to News Corp: ‘Sometimes we need a break and go take five, because everyone is fuming.’

‘There are definitely moments that are heated, to say the least… there is tension. Sometimes we need a break and go take five, because everyone is fuming,’ he continued.

Joe also said that the arguing was still going on by the time the next artist was on-stage ready to perform.

‘Oh, hold on a second, I’m just a guy with a hat on? Let’s get real. I have 56 years of experience. I can teach you a lot. I’ve sung with Luther Vandross, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder…’

Kelly, not letting the name-dropping slide, replied back: ‘So have I.’

‘Appearing angry, George turned to his teammates: ‘She did call me a man in a hat, I’m sorry. F**k off. Sorry.’

With his co-judges trying to settle him down, George said to Delta: ‘So if I said you were just a pair of heels, that would be OK?’

The climax being when Boy George said: ‘Actually, I’m going to say, I’m not a man in a hat, I’m an icon in a f*****g hat.’

After the altercation, the pair high-profile performers hugged it out, with both appearing to make amends.
