John Bolton’s book says Iran deal pull-out was put off to let Melania launch Be Best

President Donald Trump postponed removing the United States from the Iran deal so Melania could announce her Be Best campaign, claimed he was going to be nominated for a Noble Peace Prize for his North Korea summit and said he always broke up with women he dated because he didn’t like being dumped, a new book reveals.

John Bolton, the president’s former National Security Adviser, reveals plenty of West Wing gossip in his forthcoming book ‘The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir,’ a copy of which was obtained by DailyMail.com.

In addition to revealing details about President Trump’s relationship with other world leaders, his thoughts on Ukraine and China, and other policy related matters, Bolton’s 500 plus page books offers a few personal glimpses of the president.

Bolton notes that Trump once told him he didn’t like to be dumped, instead preferring to end any relationships with women, an observation then-chief of staff John Kelly found revealing.

Trump told Bolton ‘how with the women he had dated, he never liked to have them break up with him; he always wanted to be the one doing the breaking up. (‘Very revealing,’ said Kelly when I told him later),’ Bolton writes in his memoir.

The president, who had three marriages, was known for dating models before he settled down with first lady Melania Trump.

Trump dated model Kara Young for two years around 2001. He also dated models Kylie Bax and Rowanne Brewer Lane. And he had a relationship with tennis player Allison Giannini in the late 1990s.

After is marriage to Marla Maples ended, Trump seemed to relish his playboy image and being a ‘modelizer’ – a man who only dates models – a term popularized by the HBO show ‘Sex and the City.’

He and Melania Knauss started dating in September 1998 when they met at the Kit Kat Club.

He was also dating Young, the daughter of a white father and black mother, during some part of that time period. She told author Mary Jordan for her biography of Melania Trump ‘The Art of Her Deal,’ that she and Trump dated on and off for years starting in 1997.

Jordan’s book paints a different picture of Trump’s dating style. She claims Trump wanted to break up with Melania but ‘didn’t want to drop the ax himself’ as he has a ‘long history of avoiding direct confrontations’ and he ‘doesn’t like dirty work.’

Friends told Jordan they suspected Trump arranged for Melania to see him out with Kara Young as a way to get out of the relationship.

But Melania waited Trump out, not dating anyone else during their breakup, and eventually won him back by proving her loyalty. They married in 2005 and their son Barron was born the next year. The East Wing has called Jordan’s book a work of ‘fiction.’

Trump also helped Melania out when she was first lady.

Bolton’s book revealed the president planned to announce he removing the United States out of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal on May 7, 2018. But then-White House press secretary Sarah Sanders told Bolton that ‘the first lady had an event scheduled that day so we moved the withdrawal to May 8 Thus are weight matters of state disposed,’ he wrote.

That event was Melania’s announcement of her Be Best campaign, her signature initiative that promotes kindness, well-being and combating online bullying.  The first lady announced it during an event in the White House Rose Garden shortly before she disappeared from public view for almost a month to have kidney surgery.

Bolton’s book is filled with other gossipy tidbits about the president.

He recalled how Trump called him after Bolton went on television to talk about the upcoming summit in Singapore with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Trump told his National Security Adviser he needed to praise the president more because ‘there’s never been anything like this before’ and South Korean President Moon Jae-in was going to nominate Trump for Noble Peace Prize for holding the summit.

The president also told Bolton that Defense Secretary Jim Mattis praised his bravery for going to the October 2016 presidential debate after the infamous ‘Access Hollywood’ tape, where Trump talked about grabbing women by the p****, leaked.

Trump claimed that Mattis, who had combated a battalion during the Persian Gulf War, told him it ‘the bravest thing he had ever seen anyone do.’

The president and Mattis later had a falling out over strategy in Afghanistan. Mattis left the administration and became one of Trump’s biggest critics and Trump hit right back at him in return.

Additionally in Bolton’s book, it’s revealed that:

  • Trump agreed to ‘back off’ criminal probes as ‘personal favors’ to dictators;
  • Told Chinese President Xi Jinping should go ahead with building camps the regime was constructing for Chinese Uighurs;
  • Put Jared Kushner in charge of several foreign policy matters;
  • Spent part of Osaka summit ‘pleading with Xi to ensure he’d win’ reelection by buying U.S. crops’;
  • Believed Finland was part of Russia;
  • Said invading Venezuala was ‘cool’ and said the nation was ‘really part of the United States’
  • Made it a ‘high priority’ to get Mike Pompeo to hand a copy of Elton John’s ‘Rocket Man’ to North Korean Dictator Kim Jong-un;
  • Did not know Great Britain was a nuclear power; and
  • Defended Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman over the killing of Jamal Khashoggi to distract attention from Ivanka Trump using personal email.

The White House worked furiously to block the book, asking a federal court for an emergency temporary restraining order Wednesday against its release.

The Justice Department asked a judge for an injunction to halt publication of Bolton’s memoir, which has already been printed and distributed to booksellers, claiming it contains classified information. The department requested a hearing for Friday. The book is due to be released on Tuesday.

The president hit back at Bolton Wednesday, telling Fox News’ Sean Hannity: ‘This is highly classified information and he did not have approval. Nobody has been tough like me.’

Trump also lashed out at Bolton Thursday morning, claiming his former aide is a ‘sick puppy’ who is trying to ‘get even’ after his contentious exit from the White House.

‘Bolton’s book, which is getting terrible reviews, is a compilation of lies and made up stories, all intended to make me look bad,’ the president tweeted.

‘Many of the ridiculous statements he attributes to me were never made, pure fiction. Just trying to get even for firing him like the sick puppy he is!’

The president also told The Wall Street Journal that Bolton is a ‘liar.’
