Sydney nightclub identity John Ibrahim accompanied his model girlfriend Sarah Budge to the funeral of her mother on Friday morning.

The couple were seen embracing family and friends outside the Magnolia Chapel at Macquarie Park Cemetery, in Sydney’s north-west, before the funeral of Leone, who died after a battle with cancer last week.

Ms Budge, 29, had her trial for gun possession moved in February so she could care for mother Leone, who was in palliative care at the time.

NSW District Court Judge Helen Syme ruled in February there was ‘no way’ a fair trial could be held in those circumstances.

‘The position of her mother puts her in a position where she is required to assist her mother in her last days,’ the judge said.

‘She is not in a position to properly instruct her counsel in this trial. I accept that.’

Her mother died early last Friday, and Ms Budge shared a moving tribute to her on social media.

‘She was an incredibly special person that brought so much warmth and brightness to everyone around her,’ she wrote alongside a selection of family photographs.

‘So strong, she never complained as she fought a very tough battle. She loved her family, friends and our fur babies (maybe a little more than people as we often joke).

‘We are so glad that we got to be by your side and spend as much time as we could with you, but we are all in shock [at] how fast it went.

‘We were with mum overnight.

‘Mum always said kindness, loyalty and honesty are the most Important things which she showed on a daily basis to everyone in life and I hope Jack and I exude those qualities and a little bit of you.’

Budge was charged with gun possession after police allegedly uncovered an unauthorised Glock 26 pistol in her bedroom during raids in August 2017.

John Ibrahim is not linked to the charge.
