John Travolta gushes about Limp Bizkit frontman-turned director Fred Durst

After working for some of the greatest directors in the business, John Travolta has finally picked a favorite: Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst.

Travolta, 64, who has appeared in films by the likes of Quentin Tarantino, Nora Ephron and Brian De Palma, is currently working on the comedy-thriller film Moose, in which he plays movie superfan who begins stalking his favorite actor.

The movie is being directed by none other than Durst and, despite having just two other such credits under his belt, the Nookie singer is already impressing the film veteran Travolta.

‘It may be my favorite experience I’ve had,’ Travolta revealed to TMZ on Wednesday.

According to Travolta, the Rollin’ singer has given him plenty of creative input on the film, including on the development on his ‘very wild’ character.

‘He’s so generous, and he’s such an artist,’ the Grease star explained. ‘He allowed me to create a character that nobody else would allow.’

He added that Durst also has plenty of ‘great ideas,’ adding: ‘He already had this film in his imagination, so he knows how he’s going to put it together, so he knows how to let me be free within that boundary.’

In addition to directing the film, Durst also has a writing credit for Moose, which also stars Devon Sawa as the action movie star being stalked and terrorized by Travolta’s character.

Durst was apparently inspired to write the film after surviving his own experience with a terrifying stalker.

Filming for the movie started last month in Birmingham, Alabama, with photos surfacing of Travolta looking unrecognizable in a grey mullet and a bloodied face.

Moose is pitched on the official Instagram page as a ‘violent, pitch black satire of our culture’s obsession with fame, and the social contract between celebrities and their fans in the social media age.

The forthcoming film will be Durst’s third as a director, having previously helmed The Education of Xharlie Banks and Longshots. He also previously directed a commercial for the dating website eHarmony.
