Johnny Vegas continues to show off his jaw-dropping weight loss

Johnny Vegas astounded fans last month when he shared an incredibly svelte snap on social media.

And the 47-year-old funnyman, formerly known for his portly physique and gruff manner, was again showing off the fruits of his hard-earned labour as he took to Twitter on Wednesday to post a slimline image from a family holiday.

The star, who announced his split from his wife Maia Dunphy after seven years of marriage earlier this year, revealed he had taken to embarrassing his son on their family holiday with the threat of buying knock-off designer sandals.

Keeping it real: Johnny Vegas, formerly known for his portly physique and gruff manner, was again showing off the fruits of his hard-earned labour as he took to Twitter on Wednesday to post a slimline image from a family holiday

Johnny, who shares a two-year-old son with Maria and 12-year-old son Michael from a previous marriage, looked worlds away from his famed appearance as he posted an unrecognisable snap on Twitter in which he displayed a newly slender physique.

Ever the joker, he held up a pair of sliders with the logo ‘Asidad’, rather than Adidas, while he revealed his son – although he did not specify which – had urged him not to purchase the shoes as he was being ‘an embarrassing parent’.

In an earlier amazingly healthy snap, Johnny was seen to be giving away the tricks of his physique, as he shared an image of his healthy breakfast complete with scrambled eggs, avocado and cooked tomatoes.

In the caption for the food snap, he penned: ‘It’s a far cry from a Thatto Heath fry up….ooh you’ve changed Vegas. Apologies fellow tweeters, busy of late and treating our chats like a bacon butty, sadly an all too rare a treat of late x’.

Both Johnny and wife Maia shared the sad news that their marriage was over on Twitter earlier this year, and wrote: ‘It is with a heavy heart that we want to let you know that we separated some time ago last year.

‘We are telling people now because speculation is unhelpful at best, and dangerous at worst. As we think is obvious, we continue to fully support each other; there is no acrimony, no story and no one else involved.’

They continued: ‘We have never played out our relationship publicly, so we don’t feel it’s too much to ask for privacy now.
