He tweeted: ‘McGregor came and made Ireland look like royalty. You came and made African men look soft. Get the f*** out of here.’

Jones, nicknamed ‘Bones’, made his controversial views known on social media after him and Adesanya – who was born in Nigeria – continued to embroil themselves in an ugly war of words.

The former set the the bitter feud in motion after saying that Adesanya keeps talking about him but not doing anything about it by agreeing a fight.

But Adesanya didn’t take well to this and responded by telling Jones on Twitter that his mother would be disappointed in him.

Jones’ mother Camille died in 2017 after a long battle with diabetes and he responded by assuring Adesanya that she would be proud of him.

Jones and Adesanya have long spoken about fighting each other, even though the former light-heavyweight champion vacated his belt and is preparing to make his debut two weight divisions above the Nigerian-born New Zealander.

And their rivalry has intensified since Adesanya’s impressive second-round TKO win over Paulo Costa at UFC 253 at the weekend.

Jones even accused the middleweight champion of growing breasts’ after seeing the misshapen appearance of one his pectoral muscles.

Plenty of fans took to social media at the time to point out the unusual shape with many even accusing him of taking steroids. Some steroid users can find they have gynecomastia, a swelling of male breast tissue.

Adesanya has addressed the accusations about his swollen muscle, telling ESPN that he has had a blood test and two MRI scans of his pituitary gland to diagnose the problem since fighting on Saturday night.

He has never failed a doping test and denied ever having taken steroids.

Jones is working hard on levelling up to heavyweight where a huge showdown with Stipe Miocic awaits but clearly a fight with Adesanya remains on his radar.
