Channel 4’s Jon Snow, 74, and wife Precious Lunga, 47, enjoy a day off parenting duties as they dress up for the Broadcasting Press Guild Awards

Jon Snow and his wife, Dr Precious Lunga stepped out in style at the Broadcasting Press Guild Awards at The Brewery in London on Friday.

The Channel 4 news broadcaster, 74, and his wife, 47, who welcomed their son last March, appeared in good spirits as they attended the 48th annual event lunch.

It was a big night for Jon as he accepted the Harvey Lee Outstanding Contribution to Broadcasting Award at the ceremony.

The presenter donned a navy blue corduroy suit, adding a white shirt and rainbow tie to the colourful look.

The journalist wrapped his arm around his wife, who donned a complementing blue swing dress for the lunchtime event, layering a beige blazer over her look.

Precious kept comfortable with a pair of dark beige ankle boots – accessorising with a gold necklace.

It was a day off for the parents, who welcomed their baby son in March last year via surrogate.

Jon also shares two daughters, Leila and Freya, with his former human rights lawyer partner Madeleine Colvin. 

The journalist is most known for being the longest-running presenter of Channel 4 News, which he presented from 1989 to 2021. 

The lunchtime event also welcomed comedians and longtime pals Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer – who bagged the Best Entertainment award.

The TV duo looked sharp in suits, with Bob sporting a navy blue suit and white shirt, while Paul opted for a black two piece.

The pair struck some playful poses on the red carpet as they had a laugh at the bash, where they were awarded Best Entertainment for their Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing show.

The awards recognise exceptional UK programmes and performances that are commissioned, produced and seen or heard in the year preceding the awards. 

It’s A Sin also managed to snag the award for Best Drama Series, while Claire Foy walked away with Best Actress.
