Jonathan Van Ness urges Democrats to ‘get Trump out of the White House’

Jonathan Van Ness has literally tumbled into the workweek — all while calling for his fellow Democrats to fight to get ‘racist’ President Donald Trump out of the White House.

The 32-year-old Queer Eye star took #MondayMotivation to a whole other level when he shared videos of himself performing a series of incredibly impressive tumbling passes during his latest gymnastics lesson with his coach Sarah Luttinger.

‘I LANDED A FULL TWISTING LAYOUT OMGGG,’ he wrote in the caption. ‘The gratitude I feel for this opportunity at this point in my life is just like there are no words.’

In the first of four clips, Jonathan can be seen doing a round off on a tumbling trampoline and launching into his full twisting layout, sticking his landing on a mat that was placed in a foam pit.

He throws his arms in the air like any competitive gymnast would at the end of a routine, and he is smiling brightly while his coach Sarah and his friend, journalist Noor Tagouri, cheer him on.

Another clip shows him doing a front handspring into a front tuck, and there are also two videos of him working on his back handspring into a back tuck on the floor.

Jonathan has been proudly documenting his figure skating journey for almost a year now, and in recent months, he’s also started practicing gymnastics — a sport he thought he’d never be able to do again.

‘I’ve loved gymnastics my whole life, didn’t learn to flip till high school and when I quit cheering in college I kissed that love goodbye,’ he explained in the caption.

‘Then a lot of struggles and tough times happened in my twenties and I genuinely never thought I’d get to use my body or my time in this way again… it feels so good connecting with the little kid who wanted to learn to do something they felt was impossible for them… to flip. I have so much joy right now.’

The celebrity hairstylist, who is an advocate for body positivity, previously shared that he gained 70 pounds in just three months after his stepfather passed away when he was in his mid-twenties.

Over the years, Jonathan has discovered meaningful ways to move his body, from his yoga practice to his ice-skating and gymnastics lessons that bring out his inner child.

Jonathan ended his inspiring post on a political note, urging his 3.8 million Instagram followers to do everything they can to get Trump out of office.

‘Now let’s get to canvassing and caucusing within our Democratic Party and fight for equality and to get this racist white supremacist out of the White House and our future. #mondaymotivation,’ he wrote.

The TV star is just one of a number of celebrities who have hit back at Trump for his relentless attacks on Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib, four ethnic minority Democratic congresswomen.

Numerous stars have thrown their support behind AOC’s ‘squad’ who were in the firing line of the president’s latest Twitter rant.

On Sunday, Trump tweeted: ‘Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.’

Trump was accused of a racist attack against the lawmakers, of whom only Omar was born overseas. She and her family fled war in Somalia and she is now a U.S. citizen. The rest of the lawmakers were born in the United States.

After doubling down on his comments while defending himself against widespread charges of racism, several celebrities, including Captain America’s Chris Evans, Cher, and Star Trek star George Takei, skewered the president on social media.

Politics aside, Jonathan’s post has been liked more than 215,000 times with many calling him an inspiration.

‘That’s amazing!’ actress Jaimie Alexander wrote, while Canadian actress Megan Park commented: ‘This makes me smile so much?!?’

‘He’s almost 40!! Just now picking up gymnastics and figure skating. Inspiring af,’ someone else commented.

There were also people who made it clear that they appreciated Jonathan’s political message as well.
