And the proud parents are already teaching the little one to give back, with the toddler donating gifts to other children in need.

‘You’re a beautiful, selfless, joyful young boy who we love more than you could ever know.  Levi lights up when his friends play with his toys, even more so than when he plays with them himself, so we thought we’d do something a little different for his birthday this year.

‘We decided that rather than getting him something, we would get something for Levi to give to someone else. A lesson that we really want to teach our children – it is better to give than to receive… Proud of you little man!’

He went on to explain that today they gifted a goat to a family living in poverty.

In an interview with the podcast The Significant Others back in March, Jordan spoke about the family’s heartbreak after Levi was diagnosed with a degenerative illness.

She said it took a long time for Levi to be diagnosed with the unspecified disease, and detailed the devastation she and Gary felt after learning the condition was ‘life threatening’.

‘I just remember sitting with Gaz in that meeting and when they said it I just remember absolutely breaking down,’ she said.

‘There is a very short life expectancy, which is why I constantly say to people when they ask about Levi that we are literally just taking it day by day because we have no idea what the future holds,’ she continued.

After seeing a series of paediatricians, Jordan said it was the Geelong Football Club’s team doctor who finally put them in contact with the right person.

She said this new paediatrician ‘got the ball rolling’, and after months of concerns, the couple, who married in 2016, finally had some answers.

Gary and his Jordan welcomed their second child, a daughter named Grace Honour, in November.
