During her interview, the No Air singer mentioned how her one-year-old son is absolutely in love with the water, and had ‘eyes [that] were the size of plates’ when she took him to a waterpark this past weekend.

Sparks stressed the importance of sometimes leaving the hustle and bustle of everyday home life behind to have fun as a family.

The singer, who has appeared repeatedly on the Billboard Top 100, is also an actress, appearing opposite the late Whitney Houston in 2012’s Sparkle and on the stages of Broadway in In The Heights.

She also has been active in giving back, as she did after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, and made sure to mention how her charitable spirit was instilled in her from an early age.

During the interview, Jordin quoted Audrey Hepburn, saying they were words she lives by: ‘You have two hands, one to help yourself, one to help others.’

In May Sparks talked about her struggle with postpartum depression after welcoming son Dana.

‘There’s this thing called the fourth trimester, which happens after you have your baby,’ the singer said in an interview with UsWeekly.

‘It’s dealing with everything that happens with your body. Your body goes and changes, your hormones are absolutely insane.’

She added, ‘We’ve got tons of people to hold the baby, but who holds us? Who holds us together? Who helps us get through all that stuff?

‘Obviously, people in your family who know what you’ve been through and had kids before, but sometimes it feels hard to reach out because you’re like, “How do I feel so lonely when this amazing thing just happened?”‘ she explained.
