Jorginho joins legendary players Roberto Carlos and Gilberto Silva at the premiere of ‘Brazil: 2002 The Real Story’ documentary… which tells the tale of the country’s last World Cup success two decades ago

  • Jorginho attended a premiere of an upcoming documentary on Wednesday
  • The documentary will tell the story of Brazil’s World Cup triumph back in 2002
  • Roberto Carlos and Gilberto Silva were both at the event and posed for photos
  • They were also joined by Arsenal and Brazil winger Gabriel Martinelli

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho joined Brazilian icon Roberto Carlos at the premiere of the Brazil 2002: The Real Story documentary on Wednesday night.

Jorginho was born in Brazil, but moved to Italy at the age of 15 and has chosen to represent the Azzurri at international level, winning the European Championships last year.

He clearly still has affection for his country of birth, though, and was all smiles at the premiere in London alongside his girlfriend Catherine Harding.

The documentary is due to show previously unseen footage of Brazil’s World Cup winning-squad from twenty years ago that was filmed by former Brazil, Barcelona and Chelsea defender Juliano Belletti.

Carlos started six games in that tournament, and has worked as an executive producer on the documentary.

He was happy to pose for photos with Jorginho, and was also joined by former teammate Gilberto Silva at the event.

Brazil World Cup winner and former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva was also at the premiere

Silva played every minute at the World Cup in Japan and South Korea, and went on to star in Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ team in the 2003-04 season.

He was not the only person in attendance with Arsenal links either, as Gunners winger Gabriel Martinelli showed up to offer support to his fellow countrymen.

Martinelli made his debut for Brazil earlier this year, and will be hoping to make Tite’s squad for the World Cup in Qatar in November.

Brazil have not triumphed at the World Cup since Carlos and co. won in 2002, but they will enter this year’s tournament as one of the favourites after losing just one of their last 29 matches.

Brazil 2002: The Real Story documentary is due to air in the UK in November.
