Jude Bellingham reveals he’s still in contact with ex-Dortmund team-mate Erling Haaland and claims Man City striker has been texting the England international ‘good luck’ messages during the World Cup

England star Jude Bellingham has revealed he has received ‘good luck messages’ throughout the World Cup from his former club team-mate Erling Haaland.

Despite plying their trade’s in separate countries, Bellingham admits the duo are still close and text each other regularly in the season.

Speaking to BBC Sport, the England midfielder said: ‘Yeah we speak every now and then to be fair.

‘Normally when we’re both playing it’s more often but it’s normally silly stuff to be honest, just if he sees something that makes him laugh, or I see something that we’ve talked about before we’ll send it to each other.

‘But it’s never like everyday, checking up on each other you know.’

He added: ‘He’s always really encouraging to be fair. He messaged me after the first game and before the first game just saying ‘good luck’, and then he said ‘well done’ so yeah, he’s a top guy.’

The revelation has sparked suggestions that the duo may be reunited at Manchester City – with Pep Guardiola’s side one of the teams interested in the England star – but that remains unlikely with Liverpool leading the chase for Bellingham.
