Borussia Dortmund want to sit-down for crunch talks with England midfielder Jude Bellingham but will wait until after the impeding World Cup to do so.

Bellingham was picked as part of Gareth Southgate’s 26-man England squad heading to Qatar and will arrive in the middle-east as one of Europe’s hottest prospects.

The 19-year-old has starred for the Bundesliga giants since moving to the club in 2020 and at the time becoming Dortmund’s youngest ever goalscorer.

His stellar performances so far this season has seen Bellingham bag nine goals across all competitions with the German club, stirring up serious interest from a host of top-tier European sides.

Bellingham’s contract has three years to run but it is widely expected that the Birmingham-born teen will leave the Signal Iduna Park for a huge fee in the summer.

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has admitted he is keen to see Bellingham stay at the club but revealed they will have to concede to big offers for what he labelled as the ‘greatest talents in European football’:

‘I think as soon as Qatar is over, we’re going to have a basic conversation about what he actually wants,’ Watzke told BILD.

‘With him, with his parents, with whom we have a very close relationship and of course with his advisor.

‘And then he should just tell us whether he wants to stay or whether he wants to go. Either way, we’ll discuss it pleasantly and reasonably.

‘But we don’t have to pretend that the topic isn’t on the table. When the really big ones are there, we can’t afford to fight financially either.

‘Jude is a wonderful boy who also has his fluctuations – we’ve seen that now but he is certainly one of the greatest talents in European football.’

Bellingham has been heavily linked with Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City, but could opt to extend his stay in Europe with Real Madrid interested in acquiring the English talent.
