Julianne Moore talks about ageing in Hollywood and the powerful #MeToo movement

She’s one of Hollywood’s leading actresses and has starred in several blockbuster films.

And Julianne Moore has revealed that she’s sick of talking about ageing in the film industry during an interview with PORTER magazine. 

The Still Alice actress, 57, also spoke about the powerful #MeToo movement as she added that it’s ok not to be strong all the time.

She said: ‘Oh my God. I’ve been talking about ageing since I was 30, can we just be alive! We’re all ageing – children are ageing. 

‘That’s what life is and we have to accept that there’s a beginning, a middle and an end. It’s important to remember there’s a timeframe, so we can be awake for it.’

She continued: ‘It’s funny because right now, along with the ageing conversation, there’s a “strong woman” conversation. And I’m like, “Why is that an attribute that everyone has to have?”

‘People are complicated. Some people are stronger than others and some people are able to achieve their goals and others aren’t.’

Julianne went on to talk about the powerful #MeToo campaign, which went viral last year, and is a movement against sexual harassment and assault.

She said: ‘When all the #MeToo stuff started happening an older gentleman said to me “I’m really worried that people aren’t going to hire women anymore because of this.” And I went berserk. I said, “You know what? We’ll hire each other!”‘

The Jurassic Park actress went on to reveal why it was important to change her representative to include more women.

She added: ‘If you sit around and wait for this stuff to happen by itself, it’s not going to. We have to make daily choices. That’s how it has to happen.’ 

As part of the interview, Julianne sizzled in a stunning photoshoot where she showed off her toned figure in several stylish ensembles.

In one outfit, the mother-of-two wore a white sheer chiffon detailed dress with a ruff on the neckline.

Julianne appeared in her element as she playfully posed and swung on a swing in the flamboyant item of clothing.

While another ensemble saw the Jurassic Park actress ooze Hollywood glamour in a blood red high-neck dress with a daring slit on the leg.
