Julie Bishop shows off her muscular figure amid running challenge and steps out in $1400 heels

She made a New Year’s resolution to go running every single day. 

And Julie Bishop showed off the fruits of her labour at the Carla Zampatti fashion show on Wednesday evening.

The former foreign minister flaunted her super fit frame in a stunning navy sleeveless dress with tulle ruffled detailing at the side.

But it was Bishop’s footwear which really stood out, with the former politician stepping out of her taxi in a pair of ankle breaking Aquazzura Yes Darling five inch platform heels, worth an eye-watering $1400.

Julie completed her ensemble with an embellished clutch and a pair of diamond pave hoop earrings.

She managed to battle the humidity, sporting a sleek blow wave and made her blue eyes pop with lashing of black eye liner.

Julie was joined at the event by the former Premier of New South Wales Gladys Berejiklian, Sam Armytage, former Sunrise host Mel Doyle and Christian Wilkins. 

Julie revealed she was taking part in a running challenge at the start of the year, and has been pounding the pavement around the world for the past few weeks.

On January 3, she shared a video of herself jogging and captioned the clip ‘New Year resolution day three,’ adding an angel emoji.

Julie’s fitness challenge comes amid persistent romance rumours with self-described ‘adventure philanthropist’ Luke Hepworth.

The pair raised eyebrows in December when they posed arm-in-arm on the red carpet at the 2022 NGV Gala in Melbourne, despite Luke denying they are dating.

Julie and Luke have attended several high-profile soirees recently, including an event hosted by Moët & Chandon in early December month and the Perth Telethon.

‘I am not in a relationship. She is just a good friend of mine and a wonderful human, so we have been to a couple of charity events,’ he added.

But Luke did confirm he’s known Julie for several years after they first met at the ritzy Gold Dinner charity gala.

Julie has been single since mid last year, following her split from partner-of-eight-years David Panton.
