Just Eat gives CEO his job back after an investigation into ‘bad behaviour’ at work event

Just Eat is giving Jorg Gerbig his job back after a probe into his behaviour at a work event

Just Eat is giving Jorg Gerbig his job back after a probe into his behaviour at a work event. The food delivery app will reinstate Gerbig as chief operating officer three months after he was suspended over a complaint about his ‘personal misconduct’.

Just Eat did not share details of the complaint but it is believed to have happened in Switzerland at an event for 5,400 staff in April. It said an ‘external expert’ investigated the complaint and based on the outcome Gerbig, 41, could return.

He was probed under a policy which encourages staff to report issues. His reappointment came as Just Eat said orders fell 7 per cent in the first half from the same time a year earlier as restaurants reopened and demand fell. It took a £2.5bn blow as it wrote down the value of US arm Grub – hub, and restated plans to sell the business.
