Ramsay Hunt syndrome is a complication of shingles that can lead to temporary facial paralysis.

Justin revealed his diagnosis in a three-minute video on Instagram last Friday, after he cancelled dates on his Justice World Tour due to his illness.

‘Get well soon, Justin,’ Cody wrote.

‘I believe this was taken the first time we ever hung out and worked together. Man, how young we were. Playing each other’s songs we had recently written.’

Justin updated fans on his health on Monday, and said his Christian faith was helping him get through his battle.

‘By this point in my life I realize storms come and go,’ the Canadian pop star said.

‘Jesus continues to remind me that he is with me in the midst of the storm. It’s not about the storm. It’s that we are NEVER ALONE AND HE UNDERSTANDS.’

According to the Mayo Clinic, the hearing loss and facial paralysis associated with Ramsay Hunt syndrome is usually temporary. However, it can become permanent.

Bieber’s right eye was unable to blink and the right side of his face did not move as he began his video saying: ‘Hey everyone Justin here, I wanted to update you guys on what’s been going on.
