Justin Bieber is a step closer to identifying women who accused him of sexual assault

The pop star is taking legal action against two Twitter users who claimed on social media that he sexually assaulted them.

And Justin Bieber has won the first round in the defamation suit, with the Los Angeles Superior Court granting a motion to subpoena Twitter to identify the people behind the accounts, according to NBC News.

The defendants in the complaint are only identified as Jane Doe 1 and 2 – on Twitter  they had the names Danielle and Kadi – and cannot be served until they are identified, the outlet reported.

The Twitter subpoena will help identify them, but it may take months to obtain the information.

His lawyer, Evan N. Spiegel, told the Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Terry Green: ‘We just want to uncover who is behind these two accounts and it may be the same person,’ according to the outlet.

The star’s lawyer said to the judge that the accusers didn’t do their ‘due diligence’ in ‘fabricating’ their allegations, due to the fact that both claims can be disproved via eyewitnesses and paparazzi shots from those days.

The website also reported that the Judge mispronounced the star’s last name and asked his lawyer if he should know who the plaintiff is.

According to NBC News, Evan said he is a recording artist well-known in certain demographics, to which the judge said: ‘I gather demographics not 73 and over.’

The singer, 26, filed the suit in late June against accounts belonging to Danielle and Kadi who each alleged they’d been were victims, in 2014 and 2015, respectively.

In legal documents, Justin stated he has ‘indisputable documentary evidence’ to prove the sexual assault claims are ‘outrageous, fabricated lies’, TMZ reported last month.

The Sorry hitmaker claims the tweets by Danielle and Kadi are ‘malicious’ in that they appear to be a coordinated effort to tarnish his reputation.

In legal docs, according to TMZ, Bieber thinks the two social media account may, in fact, be run by the same person.

He is seeking $20 million in damages, $10 million for each story.

Twitter user Danielle claimed she was assaulted by Bieber in a room at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin, Texas, on March 9, 2014, following an event that was part of the city’s SXSW festival.

The singer counters that while he was in Austin on that date, he did not stay at the Four Seasons Hotel and did not have a room there.

He states he and his then girlfriend Selena Gomez stayed at a rental property and that she was with him all night.

According to TMZ, the Canadian star believes Danielle made up her account based on the fact that he ate at a restaurant at the Four Seasons on March 10.

Danielle has since deleted her Twitter account.

As far as Twitter user Kadi is concerned, Bieber reckons she is a superfan who waits outside hotels hoping to meet him, but they have in fact never met.

She claimed he sexually assaulted her in his room at the Langham Hotel in NYC at 2:30 a.m. on May 5, 2015.

Bieber, who was in New York on that date to attend the Met Gala, describes her story as ‘an elaborate hoax.’

He states in his legal filing that after the gala, he went on to a private party where he stayed until 4 a.m. and then got a snack at a hot dog stand.

On Monday, after taking time to consult with wife Hailey and ‘his team’, Bieber posted a series of tweets denying the assault allegations leveled against him and threatening legal action against his accusers.

After acknowledging he has been subjected to ‘random allegations’ throughout his career, he said he had decided to speak out this time because ‘Rumors are rumors but sexual abuse is something I don’t take lightly.’

Bieber tweeted: ”In the past 24 hours a new Twitter appeared that told a story of myself involved with sexual abuse on March 9, 2014 in Austin Texas at the Four seasons hotel.

‘I want to be clear. There is no truth to this story. In fact as I will soon show I was never present at that location.’

Bieber posted a series of tweets with stories, pictures and receipts he said were consistent with his claim he wasn’t at the Four Seasons, but rather at an Airbnb and then the Westin Hotel on the nights of March 9 and 10, 2014, respectively.
