A source close to the family explained to Us Weekly: ‘Selena and Justin decided to take a break mainly because of Selena’s mom and her disapproval of Justin.’
TMZ later stated that this was not true as their sources said they had issues they can’t easily fix.
The pair first started dating in 2009 but have been on and off for years; their most recent reunion came last year after Selena split from The Weeknd.
Reasons: Immediately after Bieber’s break-up with Selena a source told Us Weekly that the pair ‘decided to take a break mainly because of Selena’s mom and her disapproval of Justin’ but later on TMZ clarified that Gomez’s mom had nothing to do with the split
