Juventus to let Dybala and Higuain loose on Tottenham, says Allegri

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has warned Tottenham he is ready to unleash Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala on Wednesday night after the deadly duo recovered from their injuries.

Dybala made his first start for Juve since January at the weekend and is fully fit following a hamstring injury. Higuain, who scored twice in the first leg 2-2 draw against Spurs, has trained with the first team after his ankle issue.

Juve travel to Wembley looking to seal their spot in the Champions League quarter-finals and Allegri said: ‘I don’t see any reason why they cannot both play.

‘Although Higuain has been training separately for a while, he’s trained with the team for the last two days. As for Dybala, he recovered well from his first game back against Lazio at the weekend, he’s a young man, 24 years old.

‘The fact that this is such a huge game and such a great game, you want to play in a game like that, even if you’re not in tip top shape. I see no reason why they cannot play. Douglas Costa could well play too.’

Juventus legend Gianluigi Buffon also conceded it will be an ‘uphill battle’ for the Italians but said sometimes they prefer that to a ‘downhill’ one which they can take for granted.

‘It is a fascinating challenge for us to be playing here at Wembley, playing in what is a historic footballing theatre,’ Buffon said.

‘It is also a challenge because we have to try to get through following the first leg and the result there, and also because we are playing a very, very strong Spurs team, we all know that.

‘It will be an uphill battle for us but sometimes you can get caught out if it’s all downhill anyway so we are up for the challenge.

‘Spurs have a lot of great attributes. They have a very tried and trusted style of play, which means they like to go forward, they like to attack, they can be physical and are very good technically.

‘They have a style of play which sometimes allows the opposition a few chances, perhaps an opportunity to score a goal. The fans are in for a treat, it will be a great game.’
