K-pop star, 14, shocks fans with her meagre day on a plate

South Korea’s most popular girl group has shocked fans by revealing their modest diets.

Footage of quintet NewJeans on the set of their Hype Boy music video has gone viral on social media after the group’s youngest member, 14-year-old Hyein, was caught eating a paltry meal during a break from shooting.

In a short clip, the teenager can be seen picking at some sliced avocado, two-halves of a single cherry tomato, and some yellow rice.

Two of her bandmates, Danielle Marsh, 18, and Haerin, 16, are eating identical meals.

The footage has outraged fans of the group, with many taking to Twitter to demand that the girls eat more.

‘How much calories do they even get?? They may eat healthy foods like this, but that TINY TINY BIT????????’ said one.

‘They work so hard, please feed them well!’ begged another.

Despite the backlash, many Korean fans have defended the group’s meal, stating it’s appropriate considering that they were shooting a music video at the time and had to be ensure that they wouldn’t be bloated on camera.

‘Shouldn’t they eat like that before performing? If their belly fat is exposed, they will be bashed for not managing themselves,’ wrote one Korean fan according to the blog Pannkpop.

‘If they gain weight, you guys will complain that they gain weight. But if they don’t eat, you guys complain about it too,’ added another.

‘So what do you think female idols can eat to maintain that thin body? Do you think they will eat everything and be able to maintain that thin body?’ asked one.

The lifestyle maven also shared that her choices are ‘not meant to be advice for anybody else’ and declared: ‘I eat FAR more than bone broth and vegetables.’

‘I eat full meals,’ Paltrow asserted. ‘And I also have a lot of days of eating whatever I want, and eating French fries and whatever.’
