Kansas woman outrages neighbors after revealing sexually explicit holiday display on her rooftop

Kansas woman, 24, outrages neighbors with large, sexually explicit holiday display on her rooftop

  • Shelby Gash, 24, created a 60-foot-long penis display on her roof as a family joke
  • Though the design drew more laughs than complaints, she ended up taking it down after neighbors said it was ‘inappropriate’ for children to see
  • The display stayed up for four days earlier this month before she removed it

A woman’s sexually explicit holiday display on the rooftop of her Kansas home has left some of her neighbors turned off.

Earlier this month, Shelby Gash, 24, decided to play a joke with her family when she used extra Christmas lights to create a 60-foot-long creation that sat on her roof for four days.

While Gash’s design of the male organ drew more laughs than complaints, she ended up taking it down after neighbors said it was ‘inappropriate’ for children to see.

‘Sorry neighbors..I felt the need to make a giant d*ck on the roof ’tis the season,’ Gash wrote in a Facebook post.

‘Past 48 hours have been crazy, I just want to say the news is making it seem like all the neighbors are angry. I never got a personal complaint. I have had tons of neighbors reach out to me saying they LOVE IT!

‘The neighbors that were interviewed on the news came over to my house and chuckled with me and they got me a very kind card,’ Gash wrote.

Gash was referring to her neighbor, Marcelo Vergara, and his wife, Christi.

‘Well it’s certainly a statement,’ Marcelo told WDAF-TV. ‘I don’t know to what, but [it’s] probably not appropriate for the neighborhood.’

Marcelo’s wife added: ‘Yeah, and I don’t think it’s appropriate for little kids.’

But even though the couple said the naughty display was inappropriate, they seemed to also have a good laugh about it.

Gash also addressed people who claimed she put the lights up in the form of a penis for attention.

‘It was a joke with my own personal family I didn’t think I would make Germany headlines! I live in a pretty wooded neighborhood I rarely see kids honestly. It never crossed my mind. I’m definitely getting more thumbs up than downs.

‘I have had multiple radio interviews it’s been fun. Thanks to all the companies reaching out to me and having a good sense a humor. At the end of the day I have brought laughter and that’s what I want to hear

‘Thanks y’all it’s been a hoot,’ Gash said.
