The Kardashian family has been praised the world over for their excellent makeup tips and contoured complexions.
But for those who don’t have thousands to spend on a celebrity glam squad, there are some trending tricks of the trade that beauty experts can’t get enough of.
Over the past few months, Pinterest Australia has reported a 50 per cent increase in the number of ‘contouring’ ideas saved and a staggering 70 per cent increase in saves for ‘highlighter’ and ‘strobing’.
For those who don’t have thousands to spend on a celebrity glam squad, there are some trending tricks of the trade that beauty experts can’t get enough of (pictured is one of the trending images on Pinterest)
‘Whether it’s your nose, cheekbones, chin or lips (yes, it’s a thing!), contouring is all about precision and blending,’ the Pinterest team reported.
‘Strobing on the other hand focuses on perpetuating the high points of the face using cream highlighters, and then setting it with a powder shimmer to last through your busy day.’
Here FEMAIL has looked at the simple ways women are transforming their complexions at home and secrets they swear by for glowing skin.

If you want to achieve the perfect contour you don’t need to spend hundreds on products with multiple shades, all you need is one decent bronzer to do the trick.
Powder is great for everyday wear as it provides natural definition and doesn’t need much blending, while liquid bronzer is ideal for those who want really sharp cheekbones.
‘Find good natural day light and apply bronzer with sweeping strokes to the places that are usually highlighted by the sun – sides of your nose, forehead, cheek bones, and jaw line,’ website Glaminati revealed.
‘The darkest shade of bronzer should be near your hair line. Then you should gradually blend farther up to your cheeks.’

‘The most important rule here: less is more. Never take too much product on your brush. Take less and you will always be able to add. The less bronzer, the more sun kissed you look.’
You want to make sure that you blend well, as this is the key to a flawless look. You also want to avoid contouring near your eyes as it makes them smaller.
Don’t apply your bronzer with circular motions as it makes your contour look patchy, you want to apply it in sweeping motions.
Sucking in your cheeks to apply product also works as it helps to define where you should apply bronzer.

CONTOURING YOUR NOSE LIKE A PRO
An important part of contouring your face is sculpting out the nose.
To start off you need to highlight the centre of your nose, but avoid using a shimmery highlighter as you will end up looking more shiny than sculpted.
‘Next, add a little dot at the very tip (like you’re creating an exclamation point!) to give your nose a little upturn,’ celebrity makeup artist Lauren Andersen told Byrdie.
You want to then blend the product to soften the stripe down your face before moving onto the bronzer.
‘Using a small blending brush, tap off any excess powder and then, starting from the inner corner of your eye, shade straight down to the end of your nose,’ she said.
‘Do the side of your nose. Blend both sides before you decide to add or remove any pigment.’

HOW TO SET DEWY SKIN WITHOUT TAKING AWAY THE GLOW
Dewy makeup is still having a big moment and creating the look is relatively simple and relies on using dew-enhancing products.
Of course to ensure your face lasts the whole day you need to set it, but a lot of the time setting a dewy look is counter intuitive as it often gets rid of the dewiness.
To make sure your face is matte and dewy in the right places you should powder under your eyes and your T-zone, which will soak up any excess oil.
‘Don’t overload the skin. When I’m working with foundations, I massage them into skin,’ Maybelline global makeup artist Erin Parsons told Makeup.com.
‘When I contour, I don’t contour heavily, and I use cream products to keep the skin dewy so you only have to powder where the light hits you.’
She also recommended that you put a bit of moisturiser back on top of your cheekbones.

ACHIEVING THE PERFECT SUN KISSED LOOK
Although we’re now moving into winter in Australia, it doesn’t mean that we have to let go of our sun-kissed complexions.
Creating the perfect sun kissed look isn’t difficult, as Brit+Co have revealed.
‘Minimal foundation, tinted moisturiser or a BB cream is the key to getting that natural glow even before you step out into the sun,’ they said.
‘Go for a balanced shimmer with a rose gold gloss and sparkling copper smokey eye.
‘The trick to this look is to offset the golden hues with an iridescent white highlight on the inner corners of your eyes.’

HOW TO HIGHLIGHT YOUR FACE
When picking the perfect highlighter you want to pick a shade that is a tiny bit lighter than your skin tone so that it can brighten up your face in a more natural looking way.
Although some tutorials say that there is a step-by-step process to follow, Her Campus believes there are different aspects of people’s faces that they think they should focus on.
‘If you’ve got smouldering eyes, focus on the corners, underneath the brow, and those dreaded under-eye circles,’ Her Campus advised.
‘Want to make your lips pop? Brush some on your cupid’s bow and underneath the centre of your pout.
‘If you want to slim down your nose, highlight from centre the brows and the tip, avoiding the sides. And ladies with killer cheekbones? You know to give those apples an extra swipe.’
