Kate attends friend’s wedding along with George and Charlotte

The Cambridges had a family outing together on Saturday when they attended the wedding of a family friend.

The Duchess of Cambridge, who is currently on maternity leave following the birth of her son Prince Louis in April, made a rare appearance for the nuptials of her close friend Sophie Carter to Robert Snuggs at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Norfolk.

She was joined by the Duke of Cambridge as well as Prince George and Princess Charlotte who were given the role of pageboy and bridesmaid to Sophie who is also Charlotte’s godmother.

Prince Louis is believed to have remained at home with the family’s nanny, Maria Borrallo.

According to People the brother and sister, who have played bridesmaid and pageboy twice before at their auntie Pippa’s wedding last year and Uncle Harry’s in May, were dressed in traditional white and blue ensembles and made up a wedding party of seven.

The outfits worn by the two siblings are believed to have come from Amaia Kids as royal watchers have shrewdly observed.

While there are no photos available of Charlotte, 3, and George, 5, the Chelsea based clothing brand shared a snap of a series of flowergirl and pageboy outfits fitting that description on its Instagram account.

The post was captioned: ‘wishing you a lifetime of happiness #flower girl #wedding #special occasion #amaiakid’.

Furthermore, Twitter users pointed out that two of the coat hangers in the photo appeared to be labelled ‘Charlotte’ and ‘George’.

Meanwhile Kate, 36, also opted for blue reportedly rewearing a cornflower blue Catherine Walker dress and matching coat that she had initially worn during her tour of Germany in 2017.

However, the mother-of-three updated the outfit with a statement headband made up of silk roses in the same shade.

Prince William, 36, looked his dapper best in a coat and tails wearing a dove grey waistcoat and a sky blue shirt to accompany his wife to the wedding.

The family are reported to have arrived at the ceremony in a farmer’s truck, decorated with flowers and ribbons.

A source told People magazine that George was ‘the leader of the pack’ and said that the five-year-old was ‘having a great time’.

Other members of the Middleton clan were also in attendance including Kate’s parents Michael and Carole as well as her brother James.

Heavily pregnant Pippa, who is expecting her first child with James Matthews next month, was not in attendance.

The bride Sophie has been a friend to Kate for many years and is often to be found quietly by the Duchess’s side at various parties and events.

While in their younger days the girls used to party the nights away, they now mainly watch tennis (they play together and hang out at Wimbledon), though they were pictured cheering exuberantly at Cirque du Soleil for Kate’s 31st birthday.

The daughter of Norfolk construction tycoon Robert Carter, Sophie is also, helpfully, an expert in early years’ learning, having been a nursery and prep school teacher.

The Durham University graduate has developed a phonics educational app, ‘Hip Hop Hen’.
