Captioning the post, she wrote: ‘Thank you so much for all of your lovely messages, we are all just so excited! So happy we’ve shared this with you, I’ve found it hard keeping this one quiet.’

Kate, who is also stepmother to husband Rio’s children Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 11, from his first marriage, welcomed son Cree with the retired footballer in December 2020.

She later suffered a miscarriage in July 2022, shortly after discovering she had fallen pregnant with a second child.

Discussing her current pregnancy during the latest episode of her Blended podcast, the former TOWIE star admitted she was relieved to finally confirm the news after weeks of apprehension.

She told listeners: ‘I’ve been really quite on all my socials because I’m not very good at lying. During my last pregnancy, when I had the miscarriage, I moaned constantly that I had a bad back, I had all these things going wrong, but when I had the miscarriage I felt terrible for moaning.

‘I’m not sure if Rio would agree but I think I’ve moaned a little bit less this time and everything’s going well so far.’

Kate also revealed she broke the news to her three step-children before Christmas, when it became obvious that she was pregnant.

She explained: ‘We actually told the kids on Christmas Eve – we put it in their Christmas boxes. We told them at Christmas because I like a little drink over Christmas dinner and the clothes were getting a bit tight.

‘My body stretched a little bit faster this time, and Tate, about four weeks ago – I think Rio was at the World Cup – made a big announcement and said “I think you’re pregnant.” I was a bit flustered and didn’t want to tell the kids, just in case.’

Speaking on her Blended podcast in September, the former TV personality recalled the moment she discovered she had lost her unborn child.

‘I found out I was pregnant the day before my birthday,’ she told listeners. ‘We were due to get on a boat and go drinking the next day and I was so sea sick, it was a crazy birthday.

‘Everyone else was crazy and dancing, I hadn’t told anyone and I was so sick on the boat.

‘I was so excited. Rio was so excited, we couldn’t wait to have a sibling around Cree’s age because the big kids are much older.

‘We just thought it would be lovely to for him to have a little friend running around. The kids clocked on this time so we told them and some family this time.’

Kate also recalled the moment she discovered her pregnancy wasn’t progressing, and admitted seeing the sonographer’s face when they were told there was no heartbeat left her in tears.

She said: ‘I was thinking maybe it was a girl because I felt slightly different. Looking back, I was sick at the beginning and then I wasn’t. I was a little bit anxious but I’m an anxious person anyway.

‘[Me and Rio] went to lunch before the 12-week scan and there was blood there and I felt like god was giving me a sign. We were literally leaving to go to the scan.

‘We both tried to pretend it wasn’t happening and it was fine. It was the longest walk ever to the hospital. I felt like I knew and someone was preparing me. I just had to look at the lady’s face. It was awful, I just burst into tears.’

She added: ‘I wasn’t prepared for what happens afterwards. We had planned how to tell everyone. We had filmed the kids and were going to go home and put it on social media.

‘I just wanted to get out of the room but also thought of leaving the room terrified me because I have to go and tell the children and go home and act normal.

‘It was a Friday and Lorenz’s birthday on the Sunday and then surgery on the Monday. It was the longest weekend of my life.’

The former TV personality explained that going into hospital for surgery after suffering her miscarriage brought back memories of childbirth.

She said: ‘It was the same hospital for surgery as where I had Cree and the same medical team. I felt like I was having my C-section again. It was really hard when you’re grieving a loss that no one can see.’

Taking to Instagram shortly after his birth, she wrote: ‘Day 11… What a bubble this is… We are so obsessed with our little angel Cree.

‘I just seem to stare at him for hours on end, seeing the kids and him is literally what dreams are made of, feeling completely overwhelmed.

‘I wanted to share this with you. This is me… and let me add this is a much better version of me than the last 10 days.’

She added: ‘After having an emergency C section, and a bit of a traumatic birth I’ve been completely wiped out.

‘The happiness has been overwhelming but so have the tears and emotions, I’ve felt like I can’t do what I’m meant to be doing with Cree as I haven’t been able to change or feed him consistently which has had me feeling all types of guilt, for Cree, Rio & that I can’t be doing what I normally do for the kids.

‘It’s a whirlwind I just wasn’t expecting … but at the same time the most perfect whirlwind.’

Kate has been open about how she struggled with being a stepmother to Rio’s three children with first wife Rebecca – who died of breast cancer in 2015 – as well as being being pregnant while facing mental health battles.

Speaking to the Women’s Health Going for Goal podcast in September 2020, she said: ‘Lockdown has been an experience. Obviously I was pregnant and the children didn’t know, and something I’ve struggled with is being pregnant with my first biological child and still being a mum.

‘So I felt I had all these new experiences… but I was still a stepmother or mother figure to three kids. I struggle with my mental health. Being active helps day-to-day with my anxiety, so when I can’t do things, I struggle with it.’
