Kate Hudson celebrates Thanksgiving with her loved ones

She recently revealed she had been taking some time out from her acting career in order to spend more time with her children.

And Kate Hudson was enjoying a fun-filled holiday weekend with her loved ones, throwing a festive family gathering for Thanskgiving.

The 38-year-old star was joined by her mother Goldie Hawn and the veteran actress’ long-term partner Kurt Russell, as well as her sons Ryder, 13, and Bingham, six.

Her brother Oliver Hudson, famed for his roles in Rules Of Engagement and Nashville, was also in attendance at the gathering.

Kate captioned the snapshot: ‘Grateful for these goofs! From ours to yours… HAPPY THANKGIVING!!!’

The star has son Ryder from her first marriage to Chris Robinson, and Bingham from her previous relationship with Muse’s Matt Bellamy.

Kate recently revealed she had made changes in her own life to better support her parenting.

She said she took a deliberate step back from her acting career because nothing has cropped up that has convinced her to spend an extended period of time away from her boys.

The actress explained recently: ‘If I’m going to make a movie, it has to be one I really want to do if it means being away from my family for any length of time.

‘When I have to be on a set at 5.30am, I never want to be thinking: “What am I doing here when I could be making my kids breakfast?”‘

Kate recently showed her eldest son her cult film Almost Famous for the first time.

The actress starred as Penny Lane alongside Billy Crudup and Patrick Fugit in the 2000 comedy drama – which earned her an Academy Award nomination in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category – and she has thinks Cameron Crowe’s movie has stood the test of time after watching it with Ryder.

During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen earlier this month, Kate said: ‘It holds up. I just watched it with Ryder not too long ago.

‘It was really cool to watch that because I hadn’t seen that in so long and it’s still cool. Ryder, he’s 13, so to him it was like, he loved every second of that movie. It’s cool to be a part of a movie like that.’

Despite her love for the movie, Kate has admitted she wouldn’t want to risk ruining its legacy with a sequel, even if she’d have a great time making it.

She explained: ‘I would say a sequel to – I got a couple. Almost Famous would be fun, but I wouldn’t wanna touch that. But maybe [How To Lose a Guy In 10 Days]. That would be fun.’
