But Kate Hudson, 38, looked more than pleased with her new hairdo when she stepped out in an eye-catching royal blue ensemble in New York City on Monday.
The Almost Famous star was promoting her new film Marshall when she told the news outlet that her son had scolded her: ‘Mom, you’re cramping my style.’

The Academy Award nominee wore a royal blue halter top and matching royal blue wide leg pants. On her feet she wore blue platform heels with peek-a-boo toes.
The Fool’s Gold star accessorized with cat eye style sunglasses. She carried a bottle of sparkling water and her iPhone.
And of course, her hair was slicked back in Hudson’s now familiar close cropped style.

While she originally cut her hair for her upcoming role in singer Sia’s directorial debut, Sister, the How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days star revealed to ET the moment she realized how much like her son she looked with her new buzz cut:
‘But when I did it, he was like, “Oh my God, we actually …” It was the first time he even could see that we looked, you know, that he looked like his mommy. But it was really cool.’
While the son she shares with The Black Crowes front man Chris Robinson was initially unhappy with the resemblance, he’s apparently grown to accept it:
‘Now it’s starting to grow out, and Ryder‘s growing his out.’

Earlier this month, Hudson posted a photo to Instagram showing just how similar mom and son’s looks were.
In the snap, Ryder’s arm is wrapped around his moviestar mom. And their haircuts look identical.
