Actress and radio personality Kate Ritchie’s husband has been charged with drink-driving with a suspended license.

The former rugby league star allegedly blew 0.083 when police stopped him in Sydney’s eastern suburbs on March 26, police said.

Stuart Webb had reportedly run a red light on Avoca St, in Randwick – a short distance from the couple’s home – at about 4pm.

Soon after, police learned the 38-year-old was also allegedly driving on a suspended license.

Mr Webb has been charged with mid-range drink-driving, as well as driving while his licence was cancelled.

If convicted, Mr Webb faces a further six-month license suspension for the drink-driving offence alone, while driving without a license carries up to 12 months in prison.

The court may also choose to install an interlock system in his car, which would connect to the ignition and require a BAC of zero to start the car.

The couple have weathered rumours of a split for the last couple of years.

The 40-year-old actress and Mr Webb married in 2010 and she gave birth to their daughter, Mae, in 2014.

But in October last year, Kate told The Australia Women’s Weekly that although at times she is ‘not sure’ what is going on in her life, she and Stuart are happy and committed to their marriage.

‘Of course [split rumours] are wrong… it is baseless. But I don’t want to say any more about it because it will breathe life into it again,’ she explained.

‘When you ask me how does that affect me, the truth is I have had to learn how to not let if affect me.’

She continued: ‘Firstly, I think good luck to anybody who thinks that they know what is going on in my life because there are times when I am not sure – and I don’t mean that in a negative way.’

Mr Webb is expected to front Waverley Local Court on April 16.
