Katie Holmes and beau Bobby Wooten III have parted ways after dating throughout most of the year.

‘They just didn’t work out together for the long run,’ a source shared with Us Weekly on Friday.

The Dawson’s Creek alumna, 43, and the self-taught musician, 33, made their red carpet debut this past May.

The couple were first linked when they were spotted kissing and holding hands in New York City this past April.

The following month they appeared together at The Silver Ball, The Moth’s 25th Anniversary Gala.

They were together a total of eight months and during that time didn’t shy away from public displays of affection while out and about.

Then over the summer the couple traveled to The Hamptons where Katie was Bobby’s plus one at a friend’s wedding and met his family.

Holmes and Wooten were introduced to each other through mutual friends.

The two had much in common, both hailing from the Midwest and having performed on Broadway.

Bobby was in American Utopia, while Katie made her Broadway debut in the 2008 revival of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons and acted in Dead Accounts in 2012.

Katie was previously linked to NYC chef Emilio Vitolo Jr. following her years-long romance with Academy Award winning actor, Jamie Foxx.

She was famously married to actor Tom Cruise from 2006 until their finalized divorce in 2012. The former couple share 16-year-old daughter Suri.
