Katie Holmes looked effortlessly chic as she headed out and about in New York City on Tuesday.

The actress, 43, accessorised to perfection as she teamed her casual ensemble with a pair of covetable Jimmy Choo ballet flats.

Katie teamed a grey sweater with on-trend cargo pants for her outing, but it was her shoes which grabbed attention.

The pearl and crystal adorned pumps, which retail for $700, elevated her low-key ensemble.

Missing from Katie’s’ side was her boyfriend since April – bass player Bobby Wooten III – who, at 33, is a decade younger than her.

The musician announced on Monday that he was enjoying his ‘first trip to Japan’ where he performed with Carly Rae Jepsen.

Katie’s most recent project meanwhile was her new directorial feature Alone Together, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April before being released in late July.

The project was a collaborative affair as the proud mom revealed that her daughter   Suri, 16, sang a cover of Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart’s 1934 classic Blue Moon for the movie.

‘Well, I always want the highest level of talent, so I asked her,’ Katie told Yahoo! Entertainment in July.

‘She’s very talented. She said she would do it and she recorded it, and I let her do her thing. That’s the way I direct in general. It’s like, “This is what I think we all want and then go do your thing.”‘

She added: ‘She actually did sing on Rare Objects, which is the film we did this [past] fall. Other than that, she’s a 16-year-old kid doing high school.’

The star wrapped her third directorial effort – an indie flick about a traumatized woman (Julia Mayorga) working in an antique shop – in November.
