The Dawson’s Creek star, 44, teased a hint of her toned midriff while rocking a fitted black button-up cardigan during her outing.
She contrasted her stylish top with a pair of white pants and trendy clogs.
Holmes looked at ease while conversing with her pal as they braved the Big Apple together.
Holmes — who was recently spotted with her daughter Suri — is currently preparing to begin a program where she will serve as mentor to a group of aspiring filmmakers.

Her beautiful brunette hair paired well with the neutral tones of her clothing and flowed freely in the breeze.
It was recently revealed that Holmes would take part in a mentoring program aimed at female filmmakers from Saudi Arabia.
The program will take place as part of AlUla Creates initiative, which aims to promote the efforts of Saudi creatives.
The performer is set to serve as a mentor to three selected filmmakers over the course of a year.
A short film based on an original concept from one of the mentees will then enter the production stage early next year.
Holmes previously issued a statement regarding the mentorship, and expressed via Deadline that she was excited to be able to join the program.
‘I believe that women from all parts of the world should be empowered to follow their ambitions,’ she said.

The performer remarked that she felt ‘great joy’ about being able to serve as a mentor to emerging filmmakers.
Holmes added: ‘I can’t wait to experience the creativity these women have to offer and to share experiences and perspectives from behind the camera.’
Film AlUla’s Executive Director, Charlene Deleon-Jones, also issued a statement to speak about the performer’s future mentorship.
‘Katie has a depth of understanding of the craft of filmmaking, combining discipline and vision in a way that will provide our mentees both inspiration and practical skills,’ she said.
