Katie Price’s controversial Mucky Mansion documentary finally reached screens on Wednesday, documenting the star’s attempts to transform her £2 million West Sussex home.
The reality star, 43, took centre stage in the three-part series, which was filmed months earlier, but has been broadcast just five days after she was arrested on suspicion of breaching her restraining order, after she allegedly branded her ex-husband Kieran Hayler’s fiancée Michelle Penticost a ‘gutter sl*g’ in ‘abusive messages’.
In the documentary, Katie, who hours earlier appeared at a press conference to launch her OnlyFans account, reflected on a string of woes that led to her stint in The Priory in 2019, admitting she was in ‘such a bad place,’ and ‘couldn’t even walk into the front door without getting anxiety.
Drama: Katie Price’s controversial Mucky Mansion documentary finally reached screens on Wednesday, documenting the star’s attempts to transform her £2 million West Sussex home
In the documentary’s opening scenes, Katie admitted she wanted to transform the property after a string of poor luck in her personal life, including a stint in The Priory in 2019, and a terrifying burglary, which saw thieves ransack the property.
She said: ‘The house was broken into, I had friends betraying me, we’ve had two dogs that died here, a horse that died here, just a lot of horrible, horrible stuff here, I can’t tell you how much I hated this house. My head was in such a bad place, I just could not live here. I could not even walk through my front door it would give me anxiety like you wouldn’t believe, then the kids didn’t want to be here.
‘I’ve been in The Priory since, because things got that bad, I’ve learned to cope and deal with the past. The good news is I’m now running back, so my headspace is different now here, I’m actually happy now here, but things have to changed.

It needs some work: The reality star took centre stage in the three-part series broadcast just five days after she was arrested on suspicion of breaching her restraining order (her mansion is pictured ahead of the renovations)

Emotional: In the documentary’s opening scenes, Katie admitted she wanted to transform the property after a string of poor luck in her personal life, including a stint in The Priory in 2019, and a terrifying burglary

Upsetting: She said: ‘The house was broken into, I had friends betraying me, we’ve had two dogs that died here, a horse that died here, just a lot of horrible, horrible stuff here, I can’t tell you how much I hated this house’

Upsetting: The star revealed that when thieves broke into the property, they left a tap running, which caused the kitchen ceiling to collapse, causing huge damage
‘Thankfully the good news is I have now, decided to do a complete makeover of the house, not just for my beenfit, for the children’s benefit, and build a lovely family home.’
The star admitted she struggled to live in the property after it was ransacked by thieves, explaining she wants to change every inch of the property to make it her dream home.
She said: ‘It’s empty, cold, it just needs bringing back to life, everything dark you see, I hate it, and it does remind me of how I felt before, it is gonna take time. I’m going to sand this down, and all the stairs. Like these windows, the reason they’re odd is because Harvey smashed them.’
Katie quickly got stuck into working on her vast 19-room property, explaining she wanted to transform her son Jett’s bedroom into a Jurassic Park-themed jungle wonderland.

Work to be done! The star reveals the entire 19-room property needs to be transformed, after finding her head in ‘such a bad place,’ and admitting she struggled with anxiety whenever she walked to the front door

On the mend: She added: ‘I’ve been in The Priory since, because things got that bad, I’ve learned to cope and deal with the past. The good news is I’m now running back, so my headspace is different now here, I’m actually happy now here’
Heading down to the kitchen, she added: ‘This poor kitchen, the hub of the house, someone left the tap on in the middle floor, it leaked everywhere and this whole ceiling collapsed, it just looked like it had been vandalised, I had to have it redone.
‘No fridge, no freezer there’s just no kitchen here, it felt like a squatters place. It looks sad, because I realise all the electrics the rats have been through it, it’s a disaster.
‘It’s a solid built house, so I’m going to save it. Everywhere I look, I think something needs doing. I do have to change things. It’s a realLy good feeling in my head to know that I can go back to a place that I ever thought I could set foot in again.’

Nasty: It soon becomes clear that Katie’s dream transformation isn’t going to be easy, with builder Steve discovering the house is rife with damp and mould, likely from water leaking through the chimney

Oops! Katie is determined to help Steve with work on the house, and even climbs aboard the cherry picker to help place a pot on the chimney to prevent further leaks, but it’s not all smooth sailing, as one pot ends up crashing onto the roof
It soon becomes clear that Katie’s dream transformation isn’t going to be easy, with builder Steve discovering the house is rife with damp and black mould, likely from water leaking through the chimney.
He said: ‘It is something up the top of the chimney – we will have to take this off and let it dry out. You can’t leave any mould behind – that will all have to come off straight away. If you don’t fix this, it’ll come back and the paint will come off again. The water is coming through the chimney. This would have taken sometime to happen.’
Despite her incredulity at yet more work that needs to be done, Katie told Steve: ‘That’s another job that has to be done, we have to get into this house, the kids can’t keep travelling now, they have to be here.’

Moving forward: Later Katie reflected on her seven-year stint living the house, while playing in the garden with son Jett, and daughter Bunny, and how her relationship with the property has changed since she started the refurbishments
The mortified star joked that it’s added yet more work to the lengthy list of renovations that need to be done.
Later Katie reflected on her seven-year stint living the house, while playing in the garden with son Jett, and daughter Bunny, and how her relationship with the property has changed since she started the refurbishments.
She said: ‘I find it so peaceful here, it’s so nice and I can just look at the garden and think I got this. I love it. It wasn’t given to me I worked for all of this, and I think the best thing about it now is that I’m going to work my absolute butt off.
‘I’m growing as a person again with the house it’s like a new start, it’s like a reset button, let’s do the reset button on the house, I think I’ll never leave here. I am making this a happy home now. I don’t hate the house, now I love the house, I never thought I’d say that.’

Coming together: The star can’t contain her excitement as she begins to see the woodwork being transformed, with a power sander used to remove the dark paintwork, to reveal a more natural finish underneath
Katie also enlists the help of her five children with working on the house, taking along her eldest son Harvey to the garden centre, where she picks out a fake trellis and astroturf to decorate Jett’s jungle-themed bedroom, before getting him to assist her with painting Jett’s room.

During the documentary, Katie also showcased her surprise craft skills, creating a beaded pen pot for Jett, along with turning stuffed jungle toys into pieces that could be attached to the wall.

The end of the first episode sees Katie reveal Jett’s brand new bedroom to her children, complete with brand new furniture, painted shelves and animal decorations, and her son can’t hide his delight as he jumps into his bed.
It was previously reported that Katie landed a £45,000 payday for the Channel 4 series, and avoided paying a penny for renovations to her ‘Mucky Mansion.’
Despite the multiple renovations that were needed to her West Sussex mansion, Katie paid nothing towards the costs, while receiving a hefty fee for starring in the series.

Wow! The end of the first episode sees Katie reveal Jett’s brand new bedroom to her children, complete with brand new furniture, painted shelves and animal decorations, and her son can’t hide his delight as he jumps into his bed
A source told The Sun: ‘Katie hit the jackpot with the show – she got a £45,000 fee and didn’t have to put any of her own money into the project.
‘The costs are being paid by the production company and she’s landed a lot of freebies from companies who want the exposure of being on her show or her social media.’
A spokesperson for Channel 4 told MailOnline: ‘Production did not pay for the costs of any renovations of the house.’
Katie Price’s alleged payday was no doubt be a welcome boost to her financial woes, after her latest bankruptcy hearing was delayed until February 2022.
In November it was reported that her hearing had been rescheduled, giving her more time to pay back her debts to creditors, after failing to take out an individual voluntary arrangement to pay back £12,000 of her debts.

Awkward! The documentary’s release comes after a turbulent week for the star, which saw her arrest, before announcing just days later she’d be launching an OnlyFans account
The documentary’s release comes after a turbulent week for the star, which saw her arrest, before announcing just days later she’d be launching an OnlyFans account.
The glamour model has joined the racy photo-sharing site for £11 a month and was promoting her launch on Wednesday, as she insisted: ‘It’s my rules, my body, and I want to dictate how I show my body off.’
However just moments later when asked what sort of content she will be sharing, Katie: ‘It’s not all slutty, or whatever anyone wants to say it is. I think people have to be educated about what it’s all about and it’s not all that.’
‘So if you want that type of thing don’t subscribe to me because you won’t be seeing any slutty stuff on there.’
Many sex workers earn a living by sharing explicit content on the platform as it provides a safe way of them making ends meet.

Sending a message: Katie promises her OnlyFans page will include glamour shots but will also ‘be about 100% body positivity’, after unveiling her OnlyFans while dressed in a nuns habit

While the platform is predominantly used by sex workers – many of whom joined during the pandemic when in-person adult venues shut – a number of celebrities, musicians and comedians also use it for non-sexual content.
Katie, who rose to stardom as a glamour model, went on to discuss why she has decided to join OnlyFans six years after the site was launched.
Referring to glamour modelling, Katie said: ‘It sort of went onto the social media platform, I wasn’t used to doing all of that. You’ve got new girls doing all of that, bikini and underwear shots.
‘I look at it and think – why would you want to just give that away? For me, I think my body is valuable and I own it. It’s my rules, my body, and I want to dictate how I show my body off.
‘I’m in my forties, there’s so many young girls doing this and I know I’m just as good as them. I’m embracing myself, I’m a feminist – why not?
‘Other women out there, you can be different shapes, sizes, age and if you’re comfortable in your own skin and confident then why not? It can give anyone a confidence boost.’
The star made the announcement at a press conference on Wednesday, but ditched her usual flesh-flashing look for a nun’s habit and sash reading ‘My body my rules’.
Following a string of headline-grabbing incidents including an arrest on Friday on suspicion of breaching a restraining order, Katie poked fun at her bad girl image with the statement look.
Katie promises her OnlyFans page will include glamour shots but will also ‘be about 100% body positivity.’
In a statement, she said: ‘I want to make a stand for all women.’ Speaking at the event she added: ‘It’s not all slutty, or whatever anyone wants to say it is.
‘I think people have to be educated about what it’s all about and it’s not all that. So if you want that type of thing don’t subscribe to me because you won’t be seeing any slutty stuff on there.
‘I am actually pure. I am actually innocent in a lot of things,’ she added. ‘I am in full control of my whole life. OnlyFans, it’s something that I was born to do. You all know I’m bloody good at it. It’s what made me’.
She went on to insist that she won’t be posting nudes or porn content, explaining: ‘This will be an insight to me.
‘It’s raw content. It’s not manufactured, it’s not edited. My perception of OnlyFans, I thought it was all nudes, porn, all stuff like that. It’s certainly not what I’ll be doing. This is about empowering women. It’s not just a photoshoot, it’s an insight to my life.’
Katie’s new OnlyFans venture comes after she vowed to make 2022 the year of ‘no drama’.
She finished 2021 in dramatic style when she was handed a 16-week suspended sentence and two-year driving ban for flipping her uninsured BMW X5 into a hedge while disqualified and under the influence on a country lane near her home in West Sussex on September 28.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain in her first TV appearance since her sentencing, the mother-of-five insisted that 2022 was going to be a ‘year of no dramas’ and revealed she’s currently doing Dry January (staying sober for the month) to kickstart the year, as she’s ‘not a big drinker anyway’.
Appearing via video link alongside son Harvey, 19, she was probed about nearly ending up in jail for her latest arrest, to which she said: ‘The events were really traumatic.
‘It’s been traumatic after, so I’m not ready to talk about it yet. But what I will say is that I went to the Priory and I’ve made the decision finally to see a therapist every week, forever, to deal with the traumatic events that led me to getting into that car.
‘I’m very good at hiding things but when I’m ready to talk about it then I will come on to talk. There’s reasons why I got in that car and my mental state but when I’m ready I will.
‘I feel ashamed about it all. There are reasons that I am still dealing with now. It’s a new year but I’m still dealing with it, people shouldn’t judge people, there’s always reasons for things.’
She concluded: ‘2022 is my year, 22 is my lucky number. My birthday. The main box on Deal or No Deal. This has to be my year of no dramas.’
Katie escaped with a 16-week suspended prison sentence and a two-year driving ban because she complied with a requirement to attend the £6,800-a-week rehab centre – despite going out shopping while staying at the facility.
The former glamour model was told by a judge that she deserved to spend Christmas behind bars after committing her ninth motoring offence.
However her ‘drama free’ year didn’t last long, as she was arrested on Friday on suspicion of breaching her restraining order after she allegedly branded her ex-husband Kieran Hayler’s fiancée Michelle Penticost a ‘gutter sl*g’ in ‘abusive messages’.
Following her release after a 12-hour interrogation, with officers now examining her phone for evidence, Carl was said to be ‘furious and embarrassed’ at her behaviour, but an insider claimed that he has ‘zero intention’ of leaving her.
A source told MailOnline: ‘Katie is teetering on the brink of the biggest crisis in her entire life, but Carl has no plans to walk away. All Carl has done in the past few days is rallied round.’
The insider continued: ‘Carl will be standing by Katie and will wait for her as long as it takes, even if she is jailed. Katie is leaning heavily on Carl who has also been there to support the children at what is a really difficult time.’
Katie, who was handed a five-year restraining order forbidding her from contacting Michelle directly or indirectly in 2019 after hurling a ‘tirade of abuse’ at her, could now face up to five years in prison if she is charged and found guilty.
She also dodged a potential jail term this week after paying £7,350 of fines she owed for driving offences. Katie had been listed to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Monday over non-payment of £7,358 in fines dating back to January 2019.
However, on Monday morning court staff confirmed the fines had been paid and Katie was no longer expected in court. She had been issued with a court summons after magistrates heard she had failed to pay back a single penny of her fines.
At her last court hearing the mother-of-five was warned she faced an immediate prison sentence if she stepped out of line. District Judge Amanda Kelly said: ‘If you put a foot wrong in the weeks and months ahead then you will certainly go to prison.’
At the hearing her solicitor, Joe Harrington, said that Katie’s finances were so ‘disorganised and chaotic’ that a £7.50 toll for using the Dart Crossing had escalated into a £1,400 debt due to her failure to deal with it.
